Drive out of the city, past Nairobi racecourse to the Karen Blixen Museum, situated at the foot of Ngong Hills. The Museum was originally the home of Karen Blixen of the Out of Africa fame. She was one of the earliest colonialists who came in Kenya in search of riches and failed. She was famous among the Africans because she was kind to them and helped to start the first schools and hospitals in Kenya for Africans. You will have a tour of the house and garden and admire the beauty of the Ngong hills.
Proceed on to the African center for endangered wildlife which is the home for one of the endangered wildlife - the famous Rothschilds giraffe. A female giraffe was brought into the area by Betty Leslie Melville (wrote the book "Daisy Rothschild") who lived in the nearby Giraffe manor, and you are now visiting her family. Have a chance to feed the giraffes and enjoy a short film about them before driving back to the city center. Depending on time available, you may make a visit to Utamaduni crafts nearby where you have an opportunity for shopping from the source. Notes:
