Haller Park, formerly known as the Bamburi Nature trail, is located to the North of Mombasa. The wasteland of the stone quarry was reclaimed and opened to the public in 1984. Amongst the casuarinas trees and other tropical flora reside a variety of wildlife and birds. Guests are taken around the park by expert guides whose knowledge of the area and its history makes for a fascinating and educational experience. Eland and buffalo, antelopes, crocodiles and other reptiles can be seen wandering with crowned cranes. The commercially viable aquaculture complex can also be visited.
