Day 1: Samburu Game Reserve. Arrive at the Jomo Kenyatta International airport where you will be met by our representative. Drive North to Samburu to a famous national reserve set in the stark country in the hot and arid fringes of Kenya's vast northern region along the Ewaso Nyiro River. The river's permanent waters abound with crocodile, hippo and plenty of wildlife including the peculiar Grevy zebra, Gerenuk, Beisa Oryx and the comical Somali Ostrich, unique to these northern parts. This semi-arid area is well known for its variety of game species including the Reticulated Giraffe, Grevy’s Zebra and Gerenuk. Overnight at Sarova Shaba Game Lodge. Includes: (B), (L), (D).
Day 2: Samburu Game Reserve. Early morning game drive, this is the time when the animals are most active before the heat of the day sends them for cover under the bushes, burrows and trees. You are here to search for elephants, lions or buffalos, an experience you will never forget. Return for breakfast, mid morning at leisure awaiting lunch. After lunch you proceed for afternoon game viewing drive in the reserve. Overnight at Sarova Shaba Game Lodge. Includes: (B), (L), (D).
Day 3: Mountain Kenya National Park. Early morning game drive in Samburu game Reserve return for breakfast and then drive to Mount Kenya area arriving at the Serena Mountain Lodge for lunch. Located on the slopes of Mount Kenya, the lodge is surrounded by a dense rain forest that comes alive at dusk with a myriad of sounds that makes the African bush so special and exhilarating. The lodge’s waterhole presents a constant ballet of wildlife. Evening enjoy a night game viewing from your lodge deck. Overnight at Serena Mountain Lodge. Includes: (D).
Day 4: Aberdares National Park. Leisurely breakfast at the lodge then set out for the Aberdares. Arrive at base hotel for lunch. After lunch, transfer by special transport through the salient and into the Tree-Hotel. From the comfort of your balcony, you can watch animals as they come to drink water and lick salt from floodlit waterholes. Overnight at The Ark. Includes: (D).
Day 5: Masai Mara Game Reserve. After breakfast depart to Masai Mara National Reserve arriving in time for lunch. Afternoon game viewing in the reserve. Masai Mara is a magnificent landscape of open plains bisected by the Mara River and its tributaries, and punctuated by marshes and forests. Certainly the most frequented game reserve in Kenya, this 650 sq kilometer reserve supports the highest density of game to be seen anywhere. During the seasonal migrations, Masai Mara is home to up to a million wildebeest and an equally impressive number of zebras that move into the area from neighboring Serengeti National Park, in Tanzania. The reserve is home to all the “big five” and it is also possible to observe; baboon, eland, ostrich, bat-eared fox, jackal and cheetah. The rivers abound with hippos and crocodiles. Overnight at Sentrim Mara Tented Camp. Includes: (D).
Day 6: Masai Mara. Enjoy the entire day in the Masai Mara with early morning game drive, (optional balloon safari for an extra cost) and an afternoon game drive. The Mara is also noted for its abundance of lions - particularly the superb black maned males. You'll see lots of elephants here often in large herds, as well as - if you're lucky - leopard, cheetah and rhino. All of the Big Five are residents. You're sure to see the African buffalo. Get the cameras ready, stock up on film and enjoy yourselves! Overnight at Sentrim Mara Tented Camp. Includes: (B), (L), (D).
Day 7: Nairobi. Early breakfast is recommended today and then depart for Nairobi arriving in time for lunch (at own arrangements). You do your shopping before heading for Dinner at the famous Carnivore restaurant courtesy of our company. Transfer to the airport for Departure. End of the tour.
