Day 1: Christchurch. Explore the inner city of Christchurch by historic Tram & tranquil Punt. The Tram provides an informative commentary of the most interesting & historic sights in the city. Stroll around the pretty Botanical Gardens, visit the Arts Centre & historic Riccarton House. Overnight in our partner accommodation in Christchurch. Day 2: Christchurch—Lyttelton—Akaroa. Visit the eclectic port town of Lyttelton & sample the fare at one of its many street cafes. Drive over to charming Akaroa which is a historic French & British settlement nestled in the heart of an ancient volcano. Take your time and wander through this picturesque village. Overnight in our partner accommodation in Akaroa. Day 3: Akaroa—North Canterbury. Swim with wild Hectors (the worlds smallest & rarest) dolphins in their natural habitat. Drive to North Canterbury and breathe in the fresh country air. Overnight in a luxury rural North Canterbury lodge. Day 4: North Canterbury—Hanmer Springs. Depart North Canterbury and take the inland scenic route to the alpine town of Hanmer Springs. Have a relaxing afternoon at the therapeutic Hanmer Hot Pools.
