The desert between Wadi Rum and Petra is awe inspiring in its beauty and extraordinary moon like landscape. It is a region filled with history, battles and revolutions reaching back as far as the old testament when Solomon and Aaron passed through in their search for the promised land. It's commercial importance peaked during the Nabatean area, when gold silks and perfumes were carried along the same paths we will be treading. Our trek starts from their capital, Petra a symbol to their success and wealth remains one of the wonders of the world and finishes in wadi rum, scene of the Arab uprising in the 1920's championed by Lawrence of Arabia. As we make our way south we cannot but wonder and admire the advanced technology used by this extraordinary trading nation to trap and carry the little rain that falls in this arid desert. A trek you are unlikely ever to repeat or forget.

Day 3: Breakfast at the camp. 8.00 am begin horse preparation and full day riding in Wadi Rum, O/N camping.

Day 4: After breakfast at camp, we will begin riding through the dry oasis, down to Jebel Umm Asah, where we can see two temples from the Thamodice Period, the 2nd millenium BC. These two temples have been carved in the rock, for the purpose of travelers to pay tribute on their journey. Lunch will be en route, then continuing to enter Wadi Rum via Wadi Umm Ishreen, riding via the canyons and the sand dunes. We will be viewing some old graffiti and inscriptions all the way through end the ride in Wadi Umm Salab, where we began our night of Arabia, feeding our horses, and start preparation for our evening, dinner and O/N camping in Jabel Umm Salab.

Day 5: After breakfast in camp, horse-riding from Wadi Umm Salab through Siq Al Bareah, the longest canyon in Wadi Rum, an easy ride throughout. Next to Jebel En Fesheiah, where we can stop on Siq Umm Al Tawakey, a narrow canyon, called “the prison.” At this canyon there was a meeting between King Feisal (the ruler of Hijaz) and Lawrence of Arabia. The meeting was to discuss the revolt of the Arabs against the Ottoman’s. From this canyon, the Arab revolt started by horsemen, all the way to Aqaba. From there we will continue to Jebel Bourdah, the highest rock-bridge in Wadi Rum and view the rock-bridge. From there we will continue riding up to Jebel Umm Sapatah, a nice spot to view the sunset, followed dinner & O/N camping in Wadi Umm Saabit.

Day 6: After breakfast in camp, riding begins through Wadi Saabat, along the Saudi border. We will view the Saudi area and the Red Sea. This is one of the most beautiful sites in Wadi Rum for riders, it is a flat area with lots of old graffiti and inscriptions from the 2nd millenium before Christ. As well, we will visit some of our tribes, who inhabit this area to view their lifestyles and share a cup of tea. Lunch en route, continuing riding to Jebel Umm Al Dami 1884 m above sea level, the southern part of Wadi Rum. Then via Wadi Umm Saham to Wadi Rizgah, where we can see old statues and idols from the Nabatean period. The most interesting thing is to see the old ruins in the middle of nowhere.
