Tour Itinerary:
Day 1: On arrival to QAIA Amman our group coordinator and Airport representative will meet and assist the group through all customs and immigration procedures. Followed by transfer by deluxe air-conditioned coaches to hotel in Amman. Welcome drink and check – in O/N Amman.
Day 2: Geraza/ Umm Qais/ Ajlun/ Amman. Departure hotel at 8:00am. Full buffet breakfast at the hotel departure for a full day tour to Geraza, visit the splendidly preserved Greco-Roman city of Jerash, the most complete remaining city of the Decapolis. It is also known as the Pompeii of the east. The history of Jerash is a blend of the Greco-Roman world of the Mediterranean basin and the ancient traditions of the Arab Orient. Indeed, the name of the city itself reflects this interaction. The earliest Arab/Semitic inhabitants, who lived in the area during the pre-classical period of the first Millennium BC named their village Garshu. The Romans later Hellenised the former Arabic name of Garshu into Gerasa, and the Bible refers to "the region of the Gerasenes".
At the end of the 19th century, the Arab and Circassian inhabitants of the small rural settlement transformed the Roman Gerasa into the Arabic Jerash. Then drive through the pine forests and olive groves until we reach the City of Ajloun dominated by the imposing fortress of Qa'lat Al Rabat overlooking the Jordan Valley. It was from this location that the forces of Saladin launched their successful campaigns against the Crusaders, next drive North of Jordan to Umm Qais dating back to 2nd century AD, colonnaded streets, amphitheaters, churches, temples and the vast Roman forum. Viewing the North of Jordan and the Golan Heights and Tayberias Lake from 1500 M above Sea level. Afterwards continuo driving down through Jordan Valley Cleaves the length of the country, and forms a natural boundary to the west it is actually part of the Great Rift valley, which carves a passage further southwards through East Africa driving along the Yarmok River of Jordan among the Fruit basket of Jordan, the most green part of the country to Amman for Dinner and O/N.
Day 3: Mount Nebo/ Madab/ Kings highway/ Kerak Castle. Buffet breakfast at the hotel 8.00 am check-out for full day excursion. Trip in the way visit Mount Nebo (20 min drive) from the Dead Sea, tour of the site of the Tomb of Moses. from here Where Moses viewed the promised Land in Canaan, and where he died and was buried in a nearby valley. Here there are ruins of 4th and 6th c. churches whose floors are still covered with marvelous mosaic. Afterwards to Madaba this town has a long history, being first mentioned in the Bible and in the Mesha Stele when it was a Moabite town, visit St. George orthodox Christian church the mosaic Map of Jerusalem, Palestine, Jordan, Israel & Egypt. Madaba is famous as a land of mosaics followed by transfer via Kings’ Highway one of the oldest roads in Jordan.
Spectacular drive through wadi Al wala a tributary of the Mojib and which lower down is named Wadi el Heidan to Dhiban the site attracted the attention of scholars when the Moabite stone, an inscribed stele set up by Mesha, king of Moab about 835 B.C., Dhiban was captured from the Moabites by Sihon king of the Amorites. Next transfer via Wadi Al Mujib or the king’s highway to Kerak, Guided tour to Karak Castle (one of the finest examples of Crusader military construction, its walls are strengthened with rectangular projecting towers, long stone vaulted galleries lit only by narrow slits, and a deep moat from the west which completely isolates the site after the visit of the Castle, continuo driving via the kings highway to reach Dana Nature reserve The village offer 500 years of living tradition the village overlooks sunsets and natural canyon land scope as far as the eye can see. The village is quaint and small home to be 40 families who continue to live a simple lifestyle. The homes of Dana are original remnants of the area's first settled inhabitants and are closely centred about the community mosque. Dinner and O/N Dana Guest house.
Day 4: After Breakfast 09:00 am start a full day Jeep Tour from Wadi Dana towards Wadi ARABA (the Jordan Valley). Colorful desert landscape. spectacular fields of red sand dunes all over the Araba The desert between Feinan and Petra is awe inspiring in its beauty and extraordinary moon like landscape. It is a region filled with history, battles and revolutions reaching back as far as the old testament when Solomon and Aaron passed through in their search for the promised land. Special character, not found elsewhere in Jordan combination of Volcanic mountains, Sand dunes, wild life, above all fun. Afternoon drive to Wadi Finan. Feinan was one of the largest copper works in the ancient near east. The site is located in the Araba valley at the end point of the treks of Wadi Dana.
What remain today are runs of Byzantine churches, an aqueduct and a water reservoir and smelting furnaces. The site has been exploited since the Early Bronze Age (middle of the third millennium BCE), the Iron Age 9-5th centuries BCE), and the Roman Period 2-4th centuries CE0. Giant mounds of more than 200,000 tons of slag attest to copper productions on an industrial scale. One can imagine endless caravans of pack animals carrying juniper beams from the uplands to stoke the furnaces. Copper production in fienan reached its peak under the Edomites (during the 9-5th centuries BCE) when mining and smelting techniques attained high professional level and probably influenced the economic and political power of the Edomites. Dinner and O/N Camping Wadi Finan lodges camp.
Day 5: After Breakfast at camp Full day Jeep tour Leaving Wadi Feinan towards the Namalah Mountains! Along a narrow canyons of sandstone and igneous rocks, as well as towering peaks and vast expanses of colorful desert landscape, Petra the fabulous Nabatean capital is located here, hidden among cliffs of red sandstone mountains. Visit Bajah, the site of an Edomite Stronghold, located atop a sandstone bluff (1,230m) 5 km north of Little Petra. Surrounded by sheer cliffs. Leave Siq Bajah up to Jebal Qaroun overlook the Araba valley, majestic colorful canyon, spectacular views of the Araba valley and the Petra mountains, explore Nabateain water instillation and ruins, beautiful valleys of sandstones till we reach Little Petra! The major caravanserai of the Nabatean capital. Its easy to imagine the sounds and smells of old days, when traders, caravan masters, drovers and local dwellers roamed about, chatted, negotiated, argued and prayed.
Mediterranean tress such as Oak, juniper, carob and pistacia thrive here in small sandy valleys among typical desert plants such as the desert broom, visit little Petra (Baidah) 300BC, Rock stairs lead to rock carved streets, and thence to rock carved palaces, temples, houses and dwellings. Afterwards driving to the Neolithic village at Baidah dates from 7000 to 6500 BC. Uniquely complete record of architectural evolution from the early Neolithic period (c.6800 BC). Leaving the Neolithic village south west to Wadi Shamasat then to Wadi Rum a jeep tour to explore Wadi Rum and to follow the footsteps of Lawrence of Arabia, visiting the most spectacular sights of Wadi Rum. Viewing sand dunes, graffiti, inscriptions and canyons as well as having races through the dry oasis. then transfer to Camp for special Arabian Night, the group walk through the candle lights to reach Bedouin tents, welcome drink in a setting lit by candles all the way to the Bedouin tents, e B-B-Q buffet gala dinner in Wadi Rum under the stars. The dinner will be Arabic cuisine, traditional authentic dinner served open- buffet style including a O/N camping Wadi Rum.
Day 6: Full day Hiking. Breakfast at the camp, followed by full day trekking in Wadi Rum followed by dinner and O/N Camping.
Day 7: Breakfast in the camp in Wadi Rum, followed by Jeep Transfer to Petra, Full day tour (hiking) to Explore the Rose-Red city including the Siq, the Treasury, city center, the Royal tomb, the theater, the High Place of Sacrifice, Wadi Farasah and the Roman Soldier Tombs. Afternoon Walk back to hotel for freshen- up the hotel followed by dinner and O/N.
Day 8: Half day trekking. Breakfast at hotel, another full day trip to Petra evening transfer to Aqaba, check-in at hotel followed by O/N Aqaba.
Days 9-11: Aqaba/ Free Time/ O/N Aqaba.
Day 12: Departure.
