Then, San Blass Street and The Cathedral that dominates the north-east side of the Plaza de Armas and sits squarely on the foundations of the Inca Viracocha's palace. The Cathedral was begun in 1550 and completed nearly 100 years later, constructed in the shape of a Latin cross. We will continue the visit Santo Domingo Church & Qoricancha the Inca temple of the sun. Santo Domingo was built in the 17th century on the walls of the Koricancha Temple of the Sun.

Then we will visit Sacsayhuaman Inca fortress, which visitors cannot fail to be impressed by the beauty and monumental scale of this important Inca construction. Qenko, This is one of the finest examples of a rock artfully carved insitu showing complex patterns of steps, seats, geometric relief and a puma design. The rock is an excellent example of the Inca 'Rock Worship'. Puca Pucara, situated on a hill with superb views over the surrounding countryside Puca Pucara was more likely a tambo, or kind of post house than an actual fortress. Tambomachay commonly referred to as the 'Baños del Inca' or Inca baths, Tambomachay was a site for ritual bathing. The excellent quality of the stonework suggests that its use was restricted to the higher nobility, who maybe only used the baths on ceremonial occasions. Return to the selected hotel.

Day 3: Cuzco - Sacred Valley - Ollanta. Breakfast. Full-day excursion to the "Sacred Valley of the Incas", by the Vilcanota River. We will have the opportunity to share closely the peasants' customs and bargain with vendors at the typical Indian market of Pisac, held on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays. Lunch in a local countryside restaurant. After lunch, passing through the Towns of Calca and Urubamba, we visit the Inca Fortress and Citadel of Ollantaytambo, built to guard the entrance to this part of the Valley, and protect it from possible invasion from the tribes in the Lower jungle. The Fortress consists of a series of stepped carved stone terraces accessed by long staircases. Later on you can walk through the quaint streets of the nearby Town, and get a good idea of what this Strategic Military, Religious, and Agricultural Centre was like during the era of the Inca Empire. Overnight in Ollanta.
