Tour Itinerary:
Day 1: Cusco / Huayllabamba (82 km). In the morning we leave the city of Cusco (3350 m) with a tourist bus and go to the Sacred Valley of the Incas to km 82, the place where we will start the Inca Trail and where we will meet with the whole group doing this trek. Miskay community will be the place where we will stop for lunch and get a short explanation of the archeological complex of Llactapata. The next place where we will stop for the night will be the camp of Huayllabamba at a height of 3100 m. Hiking time: 6 hours. Includes: (L), (D). Day 2: Huayllabamba/ Llulluchapampa Pacaymayu. An early morning start of our excursion is favorable for hiking uphill, always gradually, through the Valley of Llulluchapampa (3850 m), to the highest point of this section which is called the pass of Warmihuañusca (4200 m), the place where we will have great views of the mysterious Nevado de Verónica and the rest of the Inca Trail. After a short break we will go down to the deep valley of Pacaymayu (3500 m), the place where we will camp for the night. Hiking time: 7 hours. Includes: (B), (L), (D). Day 3: Pacaymayu/ Chaquicocha/ Wiñayhuayna. We have a beautiful day for walking through the tropical forest and ecological levels between the roads of Puna, Quechua y Yunga. We will visit the most important archeological groups as well. The nearest pass is called Runkuraqay (3900 m), the place where we will enjoy enchanting scenery, tropical forest across Inca engineering build by our ancestors. We will visit the archeological remains of Runquraqay, Sayacmarca, Phuyupatamarca and finally Wiñayhuayna (2650 m), the place for our last camp. Hiking time: 7 hours. Includes: (B), (L), (D). Day 4: Wiñayhuayna/ Machupicchu/ Cusco. Alter having enjoyed our breakfast at around 5:00am, we will be heading with our flashlight in the direction of la Puerta del Sol (Inti Punku, 2780 m), where we will watch the Sun rise over Machupicchu and Waynapicchu. At the archeological site of Machupicchu (2400 m) it is the best moment to enjoy the breathtaking cultural charm. You will have some free time to spend on the archeological site before we will take the train to return to Cusco. Hiking time: 3 hours. Includes: (B), (L).
