About Pantanal: Every year, the flood cycle repeats itself. Normally, the rains start in November, becoming more intense from December to February. The waters reach their highest level between May and July, turning the large Pantanal plain into a sea of fresh water. The time and size of floods vary from one year to the other.

The Brazilian Pantanal has one of the greatest fauna concentrations. Walfrido Moraes, a researcher for Embrapa Pantanal, who has just published a paper reviewing every expedition and collection carried out since the next to last century, came to 463 specific species and approximately 50 species whose occurrence is not accurate. That is, as many as 510 species may occur on the plains, in the meanwhile registered for the Pantanal.

Tour Itinerary:

Day 1: Campo Grande & Pantanal. Arrival at Campo Grande and transfer to the farm at Pantanal. Because of its features and importance, the Pantanal was recognized by UNESCO, in the year 2000, as the Biosphere Reserve, since it is one of the richest and most diversified natural reserves on Earth. Overnight at the lodge.

Day 2: Pantanal. Day of activities around the hotel and the farm, such as horse ridding, boat ride, walking trails. There is a lot to see and enjoy throughout the entire region.

Day 3: Pantanal and Bonito. We leave the lodge on a four-hour trip to the little town of Bonito, which is surrounded by forests, rivers and caverns. Here we have free time to relax and choose among great activities, including rappelling, snorkeling, diving, cave exploring, horseback riding, waterfall treks, and ranch visits. All activities are optional.

Day 4: Bonito. Visitors arriving at Bonito soon realize that: the word "bonito" (beautiful) is not enough to describe the wonders created by nature in that region. This humble town, lost in the heartlands of Mato Grosso do Sul, surprises everyone with its rivers of crystalline waters and plentiful fish, grottos and waterfalls, which attract tourists from the world over. The tour starts with a one-hour walk along a trail inside the native forest and then floating along Prata River (one of the most crystalline in the whole region).

Day 5: Bonito & Dourados. Extra day for optional activities. Transfer from Bonitos to Dourados to get the overnight bus from Dourados to Iguassu.

From the Argentinean side, one has a nice view of the San Martin island and Brazil. There are two pathways.
