When in Lake Titicaca visit cultural Taquile Island and the floating islands of Uros. On another day enjoy a private experience Sillustani Tombs and area. Time to chill out next in the sub tropical rainforest area of Iguassu Falls, the world`s largest and most spectacular waterfalls. We finish this South American spectacular with the city of Buenos Aires. There is something for everyone in Buenos Aires, here you will visit the pampas and experience the Argentine cowboys as well as visit the historic areas of Boca, San Telmo and much more.
Independent Vacation (min 2 people):
Day 1: Arrival in Santiago. A private airport representative will meet you at the airport with your name on a board. They will have a copy of your detailed itinerary and very important local contact numbers. They will introduce you to your driver for your private transfer and answer any immediate questions you have regarding your stay in Santiago. Overnight 3 nights in Santiago.
Day 2: Private Half Day Tour of Historical Santiago. This morning you will start on a half day tour of Santiago. The journey starts visiting the civic quarter noted for the Moneda Palace. The Pre-Columbian museum surprises us with its wide range art sample, related to the origin of the American man`s culture. The National Historical Museum and the Fine Arts Museum are other existing beauties of Santiago downtown. We cannot leave without visiting the Santa Lucia hill, foundation site of Santiago.
Day 3: Full Day Tour to Vina del Mar and Valparaiso. Valparaso is a port and World Heritage city, whose origins date back to 1536. Beside this, it is the seat of the legislative power. Valpara? So has the picturesque magic with its funiculars, beaches and colorful neighborhoods on its 45 hills, and beaches, unfolding unique and unforgettable landscapes. Today, tour visits La Sebastiana; house museum of the poet and literature Nobel prize, Pablo Neruda. Then, it continues to Villa del Mar standing out the architecture of its palaces and streets. Finally, return to Santiago visiting Faba to observe elaborated pieces made in Lapislazuli, a precious only found in Chile and Afghanistan.
Day 4: Santiago to Cuzco. An early rise today for your private transfer to the airport. Upon arrival in Cuzco a private driver will be at the airport with your name on a board. They will have a copy of your detailed itinerary and very important local contact numbers. Normally on the same day a guide at a pre-arranged time on your itinerary a guide will be visiting your hotel to welcome you to this great city and answer any immediate questions. Overnight 2 nights in Cuzco.
Day 5: Private Half Day City Tour - Awanacancha and nearby ruins. You will begin your tour visiting Awanakancha, where South American camelidae are bred. Learn about the superb fibers of llamas, alpacas and vicunas as well as the ancient weaving techniques which are still used. Proceed to Sacsayhuaman, strategically placed on a hill, this Inca construction was believed to have been a fortress. Here you will be able to appreciate the amazing and enormous stones that fit together with amazing precision. Return to Cusco city were you will visit the 16th century Cathedral and the Colonial art that is housed here. Your last stop will be Santo Domingo`s Convent, which was also the Koricancha temple, the most important Incantemple devoted to worship of the sun. Day 6: Peru Rail. Cuzco to Aguas Calientes (Machu Picchu). This service to the ancient ruins at Machu Picchu offers a spectacular journey in the Andes region. The journey begins with a series of switchbacks, known appropriately as the `zig-zag`, out of Cuzco, before a stop at the village of Poroy. The train then descends from the highest point into the Sacred Valley and the foothills of the Andes. Before reaching Machu Picchu, the train travels along the Urubamba River, with awe-inspiring views of the dramatic canyon. The spectacular carriages of the Vistadome have panoramic windows offering unsurpassed scenic views and photographic opportunities. Day 7: Machu Picchu. This famous citadel combines the visual and spiritual force of magnificent natural scenery with the natural diversity of a historic sanctuary recognized as a Cultural and Natural Patrimony of the World. Only the Inca and his noblemen, priests, priestesses and chosen women (Akllas) had free access to the premises of the Machu Picchu sanctuary. The ruins are situated on the eastern slope of Machu Picchu in two separate areas - agricultural and urban. The latter includes the civil sector (dwellings and canalization) and the sacred sector (temples, mausoleums, squares and royal houses).
This is where we are different to most other operators, we overnight our clients for 2 nights in Aguas Calientes so you can make an early start today before the tourist trains arrive Cuzco. You can easily purchase an entrance ticket and return bus fare to Machu Picchu from the Tourist information for approx £15 per person, subject to change. We suggest for you to ask the hotel to make you a special packed lunch with plenty of water for your full day trip to the citadel. Sun set at here is brilliant so we suggest plenty of sunblock if you are to stay the whole day there are plenty of different walks to discover to fill in a complete day.
Day 8: Aguas Calientes to Cuzco. Take the morning at leisure or visit the citadel for the last time. There are also some very good markets next to the train station that open around noon. Your Vistadome service will depart from Cuzco normally approx 3:30 pm. You will arrive in Cuzco approx 7:30 pm with enough time to unwind and a shower before a last farewell dinner. Overnight 1 night in Cuzco.
Day 9: Cuzco to Puno: Andean Explorer (1st Class). From Cusco, the train heads south-east, following the Huatanay River through green fields dotted with willow trees and eucalyptus groves, and passing outlying communities gathered around colonial churches. Overnight 3 nights in Puno.
Day 10: Private Tour of Sillustani Tombs and Scenery. This morning a your private guide will collect you after breakfast for your private half day tour today of the Sillustani Tombs and scenic area. Return in time for lunch and the rest of today at your own leisure.
Day 11: Uros and Taquile Islands. After breakfast you will be picked up from your hotel for a full-day motor-boat excursion on Lake Titicaca to visit the unique floating islands of the Uros. For hundreds of years, this Water Tribe has relied on totora reed to build their floating villages, modest homes and boats. Continue to Taquile Island, inhabited by Aymara natives who have developed the best hand-weaving technique in the world.
Day 12: Puno (Juliaca) to Sao Paulo. Today is a day of leisure in Puno. Yours to relax or catch some further sightseeing. In the afternoon you will be transferred privately to Juliaca airport for your overninght flight to Sao Paolo via Lima.
Day 13: Sao Paulo to Paraty. Upon arrival into Sao Paulo, your private driver will be waiting for you after immigration to transfer you to Paraty. The private transfer take approximately four hours depending on traffic. You will be dropped at your hotel and the rest of the afternoon and evening at leisure. Overnight 2 nights Porto Imperial Pousada (3 stars) including daily breakfasts
Day 14: Tropical Island Schooner Cruise. This morning after breakfast, make your way down to the wharf (just a few blocks) for your schooner cruise of the islands. Lunch and drinks at own expense.
Day 15: Paraty to Rio de Janeiro. After a leisurely breakfast today you will be transferred to Rio de Janiero. The journey is very scenic and takes a time of approx four hours, once again depending on traffic. The bus will drop you at your hotel with the rest of the afternoon at leisure. Overnight 4 nights in Rio de Janeiro
Day 9: Private Rio de Janeiro Orientation Tour. This morning you will be picked up by one of our hand selected guides to take you on an orientation of this great city for 4 hours. If you have any special interests be sure to let us know at time of booking. Any entrance fees must be paid for locally.
Day 10 (or alternate selected day): Your choice of a special experience:

Day 18: Day of Leisure. Today, a day of leisure or pre-plan an activity, the choice is yours.
Day 19: Rio de Janeiro to Iguassu Falls. After breakfast, a private driver will pick you up for your transfer to the airport for your flight to Iguassu. The Falls - the largest and most spectacular waterfalls in the world. Iguassu Falls has a Brazillian side as well as an Argentininean side. You will have the afternoon at liesure to settle into your surrounds. Overnight 3 nights in Brazilian Iguassu.
Day 20: Private Tour of the Argentine Falls & Safari Boat Ride. After breakfast - Pick u from your hotel and transfer to the border of Brazil and Argentina, 5-15 km from the hotels, crossing the Iguacu river by the 489 meter long Tancredo Neves bridge. From the border to the falls on the Argentinian side is about 15 km. Arrival at the falls and walk along special pathways and bridges which bring you very close to some of the falls. From the Argentinian side, one has a nice view of the San Martin Island and Brazil. There are two pathways. The upper one takes about 30 minutes and is 700 meters long and the lower one is 1.5 km long and takes 1 to 2 hours. During your visit today, you will embark on an exciting safari boat ride of the Falls for some great views and an unforgettable experience. This is a "must do" and included in our package prices.
Day 21: Private Tour of the Brazilian Falls and Tropical Bird Park. Pick up from your hotel after breakfast. Transfer to the waterfalls on the Brazilian side, to a place from where one has a nice view of the falls on the Argentinian side and from where a 1 km long pathway begins. Walking along the pathway through the lush forest, one will see more and more of the falls and it is possible to see some small animals, birds and butterflies. At the end of the pathway are souvenir shops, bathrooms and a bar. Up to the main road by elevator and return transfer to the hotel. Afterward today visit the Tropical Brid Park. It is an ecological sanctuary with more than 500 species of birds from Brazil and other countries, as well as some species of reptiles and butterflies. You will walk on a trail through some areas that imitate birds` natural habitat, where you will have the opportunity to take photos very close to them. It’s a great fun for people of all ages.
Day 22: Iguassu to Buenos Aires. After breakfast transfer to the airport for your flight to Buenos Aires. Upon arrival into Buenos Aires you will be greeted by your private guide and private transfer to explain about the this cosmopolitan city during your trip into the city. An itinerary will be presented to you upon arrival with all your pre-booked information and also important contact numbers whilst you are in Buenos Aires. Overnight 4 nights in Buenos Aires.
Day 23: Private Half Day City and Cafe Tortoni`s. This morning you will be picked up by one of our hand selected guides to take you on an orientation of this great city. Discover the beauty and wonders of Buenos Aires, view the National Congress, the Metropolitan Cathedral next to the Government House in may square area. Admire the Colon Theater, one of the most important opera houses in Latin America. Visit San Telmo, traditional neighborhood where Tango performances can be seen in many bars and restaurants. Stop at La Boca colorful neighborhood, which was, seat of immigrants - manly Italians - and now home of some artists.
Enjoy Palermo, an area that combines its architecture and history with entertainment and amusement in its green spaces. Finally, La Recoleta, an exclusive and elegant neighborhood where the famous cemetery is found and visit Eva Peron`s tomb. Although it may seem unusual, fashionable restaurants, bars, cafes, discos and a cinema complex also surround the area. This private tour also includes a stop at the famous Tortoni`s for a coffee/tea and/or cake (at own expense) before heading back to your hotel. The afternoon and evening is at leisure.

Day 26: Day of Departure from Buenos Aires. Today your private driver and transfer will pick you up from your hotel and drop you at the airport in plenty of time for your flight today. Please always re-confirm your flight times 24 hours prior to scheduled departure.
