Tour Itinerary: On selected hiking trips into the Escalante Canyons, Don Montoya of the Anasazi State Park Museum will join us for the first two days of our regularly scheduled trips. After meeting at the Burr Trail Grill and Outpost on the morning of departure we drive to the Anasazi State Park for an introduction to the prehistory of the area and a private tour of the museum. From there we drive to the trail head and begin our hike. We have chosen certain itineraries that are rich in archeological resources. Because of his unique cultural heritage and archaeological perspective, Don will contribute cultural interpretations of landmarks, rockart, and archaeological sites on both day hikes and our multi-day trips.
