Tour Itinerary:

Day 1: Arrival. Explore the tour of Addis Ababa from Mekal Square. Visit Trinity Cathedral, National Museum and Lucy, ethnographic Museum and finally Merkato. O/N. Hotel.

Day 2: Addis Ababa - Debre Markos. Drive to Debre Markos. Pass thru Blue Nile Gorge having similar in scale with Grand Canyon in USA. Visit Debre Libanos Monastery. O/N. hotel.

Day 3: Debre Markos and city tour of Bahir Dar. Head to Bahir Dar. After check in to your hotel, drive to the Majestic Blue Nile Fall. When you return back, visit the colorful market place of Bahir Dar mainly spices and Basket section. O/N. Hotel.

Day 4: Crossing of Lake Tana by boat to Gonder. After breakfast, onboard the boat for the cruise to Gorgora which is located at the northern tip of the Lake. On the way visit the island churches and Monasteries including, Dega Estphanos, Ura Kidanemehere,and Narga Sellassie. Meet your driver and drive to Gonder-the 16th-17th capital city of Ethiopia.

Day 5: Royal Compound and Eve of Epiphany. Visit the Royal Enclosures build by emperor Fasil and his successors. Afternoon attend the eve of Timkat. With the local people, priests, deacons accompany the replica of the Ark of the Covenant for its journey to the baptism pool. O/N. Hotel.

Day 6: Early in the morning attend the Baptism ceremony. In the afternoon an excursion trip to Kosoyo - the view point to see the Scenic Semen mountains. On the way stop at “Woleka”- the former Settlement for Ethiopian Israelites. O/N. Hotel.

Day 7: Drive to Lalibela. Drive to Lalibela via Debre Tabor road. So many stop to take pictures and get a picnic lunch. O/N. Hotel

Day 8: Rock Churches Llalibela. Explore the 12th and 13th century Rock Churches of Lalibela. O/N. Hotel.

Day 9: Fly to Addis Ababa. Fly back to Addis Ababa. Time for shopping and in the evening fly back home.

Notes:
- Dates: 14-22 of January
- Timkat festival is also very colorful in Lalibela and “Jan Meda” in Addis Ababa. Due to overflow of tourists during Timkat and Genna, bookings for any flights and hotel rooms should be made a year or at least 9 months in advance.
