Tour Itinerary:
Day 1: Arrival. Arrive at Addis Ababa Bole International Airport, meet with your guide and transfer to hotel for check in. O/N. Hotel. Day 2: Addis Ababa / Bahir Dar. Check into airport to take the flight to Bahir Dar. Up on arrival, on board the boat for the cruise on Lake Tana for visiting Island churches including the church of Ura Kidaneleheret and Azewa Mariam. See also the point where Blue Nile Gorge leaves Lake Tana. After lunch, Drive to Blue Nile Fall. O/N. Hotel. Day 3: Bahir Dar / Gonder. Drive to Gonder and explore the 16th and 7th century capital city of Ethiopia. The visit includes the Royal compound built by emperor Fasil and his successors. Visit also the bathing pool and the second palace of the emperor. Finally, visit the church of Debre Birhan Selassie church which is famous by its religious wall painting and Angel- faced cherubims on the ceiling. O/N. Hotel. Day 4: Gonder / Lalibela. Fly to Lalibela. After check in to your hotel, Explore the rock hewn church of the city hewned by King Lalibela in the 12th and 3th century. For this afternoon you will visit the first group of the rock hewn churches of Lalibela. O/N. Hotel. Day 5: Rock churches of Lalibela. 2nd Groups of the Rock Churches. Today’s activity covers visiting of the second groups of the Rock churches, the cross-shaped church of Lalibela and the cave church of Nacutol’ab. O/N. Hotel. Day 6: Lalibela / Axum. Fly to Axum. Make a site seeing activity of the city including visiting of Axum Archaeological museum, Axum St. Mary of Zion, Axum obelisk compound, tombs of Remhay, Palaces and burial Place for the King Kaleb and Gebre Meskal, Inscription of Ezana. Also visit “Maishum”- the bathing pool for Queen Sheba, “Danghur”- the palace for the Queen. O/N. Hotel. Day 7: Axum / Addis Ababa. Back to Addis Ababa, site seeing tour of the city. In the evening, enjoy with traditional live music. O/N. Hotel. Day 8: Addis Ababa / Zanzibar. Check out from your hotel and transfer to airport for your international flight to Zanzibar. O/N. Hotel. Day 9: Stona Town / Prison Island / Spice Tour. After breakfast, discover the stone town, which includes House of Wonders, the house of the biggest slave trader "Tippu Tip", the Anglican Church of Christ and the Old Slave Market. After lunch, tour to spice plantation area which includes big cloves and Coconut plantations, herbs. Visit also the Persian baths at Kidichi. O/N. Hotel. Day 10: Prison Island. Make a full day trip to prison Island once owned by an Arab who used it for rebellious slaves. Later it was sold to general Mathews who converted it into a prison. However it has never been used as such. Spot so many giant tortoises, and enjoy with surrounding forests. Day 11: Dolphin Safari. One hour away from Stone Town is Kizimkazi, a small village on the southern point of the island. From here we start our Dolphin Safari. Once we get offshore we start spotting Dolphins. Be prepared if you want to swim with them in. You have to bring your snorkeling gear. O/N. Hotel. Day 12: Beach Holiday. At leisure. Day 13: Departure. Make an international flight back home.
