Tour Itinerary:
Day 1: Morning shuttle to Moshi. Dinner and overnight at Springlands Hotel.
Day 2: Transfer from your hotel to the Kilimanjaro National Park Gate at Marangu. From here you trek through the lush forest to Mandara hut (2750m). Overnight stay.
Day 3: Leaving the forest, you trek along a good path through open grassy moorlands to reach Horombo Hut (3700m). Stay overnight.
Day 4: Continue ascending, past the 'Last Water' point, to reach the saddle, a dry area between the peaks of Kibo and Mawenzi. Overnight at Kibo Hut. (4700m).
Day 5: An early start for the stiff walk up steep and heavy scree to reach Gillman's point (5681m) in time for sunrise. From here it is possible to continue to Uhuru peak (6896m), the highest point in Africa. Afterwards descend to Horombo hut. Stay overnight.
Day 6: Descend to the park gate, from where you are transferred back to your hotel. Dinner and overnight.
Day 7: Breakfast at springlands hotel. You then take the shuttle back to Nairobi.
