Day 1: Arriving to Yerevan, meeting in "Zvartnots" International airport. Transfer to the hotel. Support in check-in. Rest. Excursion to Ejmiatsin and Zvartnots – centuries-old monuments, members of UNESCO World Heritage. Visiting Zvartnots - a Temple of Vigil Forces of XI century. Walking through Yerevan at nighttime. Overnight in the hotel.
Day 2: Ararat Mountain. Breakfast at the hotel. Excursion to the Museum-Institute of ancient manuscripts Matenadaran. Trip to the monastery-fortress of XVII century Khor Virap. You are given a rare opportunity to enjoy the spectacular view of the sacred Ararat Mountain - an immortal symbol of Armenia. According to ecclesiastic tradition Grigor Lusavorich (Gregory the Illuminator) - the founder of Christianity in Armenia - was imprisoned in the deep pit by the order of tsar Trdat III for 13 years. Gregory the Illuminator was exposed in spreading “alien religion”. Excursion to Noravank – a monastery of XII century situated among amazing sheer rocks on the bench of a twisty gorge. Dinner in a grotto with a spirit of mystery and antiquity. Trip continues to Areni famous for the church of XIV century and its excellent wine, which You are welcome to taste. Return to Yerevan. Overnight in the hotel.
Day 3: Tsaghkadzor. Breakfast at the hotel. Excursion to the museum of Erebuni, one of the historical museums of Yerevan city that is situated so close to the ruins of Urartian fortress Erebuni. Trip to Tsaghkadzor, one of the most popular mountain-ski-resort of Armenia. In winter season don’t forget to enjoy the ski-equipment and the rope-way that will take you at 2940 m height above the sea-level, giving you an opportunity to enjoy the magnificent view. Transfer to Noraduz - one of few Ancient Armenia settlements that have kept its name since the ancient times. As early as in XVI century there was a residence of Armenian princes, yet today right in the center of the village the church of the Virgin was raised. Besides here you can see a long chain of khachkars among which the oldest is dated from 996 AD. Trip to the “Armenian Pearl” – Lake Sevan. Here you will taste famous Sevanian white-fish and ishkhan. Return to Yerevan. Overnight in the hotel.
Day 4: Breakfast at the hotel. Visiting the History Museum of Armenia and National Art Gallery of Armenia. Excursion to Garni and Geghard – 2 monuments that are included in UNESCO Heritage list. Trip to the spring-memorial to the Greatest Armenian poet Eghishe Charents. Here we stop to admire the picturesque view of Ararat valley and proud Ararat Mountain. Overnight in the hotel.
Day 5: Vernissage. Breakfast at the hotel. Transfer to Vernissage - an open-air fair, where you can find something memorable. Trip to Oshakan village. The tomb of Mesrop Mashtots, the creator of Armenian, Georgian and Caucasian alphabets is here. The village is considered an open-air museum. Saint Mashtots church, the monument to the perished in the battle of Oshakan, the monument to the Armenian alphabet are all here. To the north of Ashtarak the cupola of Moughni monastery complex will grasp your attention (dated from XVII century). Detailed excursion through the whole territory of monastery. Excursion to Saghmosavank famous for its unique library, architectural phenomenon and rich-ornamented khachkars (arm. cross-stones). Return to Yerevan. Visit Yerevan Cognac Factory. Banquet in “Old Erivan” Restaurant with live music in the evening. Overnight in the hotel.
Day 6: Breakfast at the hotel. Visiting the museum of Sergey Parajanov. Free time or additional excursion. Transfer to the airport 3 hours before flight. Support in airport check-in.
