Day 1: USA - Madrid
Day 2: Arrival to Madrid. You take a shuttle bus to the hotel and Check-in. Overnight in Madrid. (Optional private transfer) The rest of the day is free.
Day 3: Free day in Madrid
Optional: Half day regular tour of Madrid. After a extensive city sightseeing tour we´ll see the most important buildings, avenues and squares with an expert official guide who will explain about the Monuments and the History. Continue visiting the inside of the impressive Royal Palace, former residence of the Spanish Kings and beautifully furnished and decorated. You will be able to admire the official Reception rooms, the Museum area, the Royal Chapel, the Throne Room and the private rooms of King Carlos III and Quin Isabel II. Frre time for visit some Museums, shopping, etc.
Day 4: Toledo tour
Breakfast. Small Group Tour: Full day regular tour of Toledo. Arrival to the new Reception centre “Toletum” of beautifull contemporany architecture. After a panoramic tour of the city, we enter to the old quarters to visit the inside of the monumental Primate Cathedral, the Church of St. Tomé, whit the very famous paiting of El Greco “The Burial of Count Orgaz”, old Jewish quarter whit its narrow streets, Sinagoge of Ste. María la Blanca, Church of San Juan de los Reyes, and the house Museum Victorio Macho, located ower River Tagus whit outstanding views. The house holds works of the famous sculptor and here we´ll see a short audiovisual movie about the city. We´ll also visit a typical factory of Damasquino, well know handicraft art of Toledo. Overnight in Madrid.
Day 5: Breakfast. Departure to Avila, Castilian city which preserves its medieval wall. Free time to know the walled city and old quarter and continuation to Salamanca. Time at leisure to walk through this monumental city and its famous Plaza Mayor. Diner and overnight in the hotel in Salamanca.
Day 6: The Valley of the Fallen
Breakfast. Half day regular tour for visit The Monastery of El Escorial was built under the reign of the powerful King Philip II to be a Residence for the Kings, Monastery and Pantheon of the Royal Family, becoming as a symbol of the great power of the Spanish Empire on the time. The monument was declared of Artistic and Historic interested, and “Mankind Heritage”. The visit include the Monastery, the Cloister of the Four Evangelists, the Palace of Philip II, Pantheons of the Royal Family, the Chapterhouses, and the Basilica. Afterwords, continue whit the visit of The Valley of the Fallen, this monument was built as a memorial of those who died during the Spanish Civil War in 1.936. Located in the beautiful Valley of Cuelgamuros, in the Mountains of Guadarrama, this impressive work has a colossal cross over 150 mts. high, and the Basilica and Crypt excavated in the hard rock under the mountain. Overnight in Madrid.
Day 7: Today you will take the Ave Train to Barcelona - shuttle or taxi to hotel (Optional private transfer). You will go to the train station for your Ave train to Barcelona. This express train only takes 2 1/2 - 3 hours to arrive at Barcelona. Upon arriving you can take a taxi to the hotel (note: in Barcelona the taxis have a 1 Euro/bag charge for luggage. What you put on your lap is not included, only what they store in the back).
Day 8: Breakfast. Day for visit some of the most important places in Barcelona: Gaudi´s Barcelona with the Temple Expiatori of the Sagrada Familia, La Pedrera, Park Güell, etc. The beautiful Gothic Quarter with the Cathedral, and the peaceful squares. Overnight in the Hotel.
Day 9: Breakfast. Visit to the Benedictine Monastery and a Sanctuary of our Lady of Montserrat, one of the most important places near Barcelona, where spirituality and culture come together against a spectacular natural backdrop. Overnight in the hotel.
10 Day: Breakfast. Free day in Barcelona.
