Tour Itinerary:
Day 1: Arrival at Queen Alia International Airport. Transfer to Amman hotel for overnight. Day 2: Amman. After breakfast drive to Madaba, the city of mosaics. In the church of Saint George you will find the mosaic map of Jerusalem and the Holy Land, which was found in 1884 when the church was rebuilt. The journey will continue to Mount Nebo, to the place from where Moses first set eye on the Holy Land. You will also visit the Moses Memorial Church, which according to many scientists was built on top of Moses’ tomb. Its floor and walls are decorated with beautiful mosaics. Continue to the Dead Sea, back to Amman hotel and overnight. Day 3: Amman - Desert Castles. After breakfast, full day tour Desert Castles, back to Amman hotel. The Romans were not deterred by the desert climate and built a chain of fortresses along the ‘limes Arabic's’, the frontiers of their new Arabic province. Most of the castles you can visit nowadays were built by the caliphs during the Umayyad period. Some are decorated with fine mosaics, frescoes, stone and stucco carvings and illustrations. They stand as silent and impressive evidence of Jordan’s Rich history. Today you shall see three of the best-preserved desert castles. Overnight in Amman. Day 4: Amman - Madaba – Mountain Nebo – Wadi Mujib - Kerak – Petra. After breakfast full day sightseeing of Amman including citadel, amphitheatre, national museum, down town and modern part of Western Amman. Then drive to in Madaba, and visit St. George church, famous for its unique mosaic map on the church floor. St. John church at Mount Nebo where Moses looked over the Holy Land and the Dead Sea. If the sky is clear Jerusalem, Jericho and Bethlehem will meet your eye at the other side of the Dead Sea. Continue to Wadi Mujib, then Kerak, the huge castle where Saladin and Richard Lion heart fought during the crusades. Arrive at Petra; check in at hotel and overnight. Day 5: Visit Petra. In the morning a local guide will escort you to Petra, and show you the highlights of the Nabatean city. You will enter the city through the Siq, the narrow gorge and be rewarded with the most astonishing and dramatic monument in Jordan: the Treasury. You will also visit the theatre, the tombs and façades, and the colonnaded street. Continue to Wadi Rum for a 2 hour Jeep Safari. Overnight Wadi Rum. Day 6: Wadi Rum - Amman - Jerash - Ajlun - Um Qais. After breakfast, back to Amman, drive to Um Qais, built mainly out of black basalt. Here you can enjoy the impressive, view over Lake Tiberias and the Golan Height; on to Ajloun Castle, then Jerash – the Roman city. Walk in the Oval Plaza surrounded by colonnades, visit the Roman theatre and Byzantine churches with mosaic-covered floors. Enjoy a stroll along Jerash' main road the Cardo and pass by the Nymphaeum. Drive back to Amman hotel overnight. Day 7: Amman – Damascus. After breakfast depart to Syria. Arrival Damascus. Meet and Assist transfer to hotel for overnight. Day 8: After breakfast Damascus city tour including: Handicraft Market, Umayyad Mosque, Roqaea Mosque, Covered Bazzar, Spices Market, Straight Street, Bab Sharqi. Transfer to Maaloula Sayednya – hotel overnight. Day 9: After breakfast visit Bloudan, Zabdani, Madaya, Bokin, Panoramic View Damascus. Back to hotel overnight. Day 10: Free time for Shopping Hamra, Al Salehea Street (optional dinner with Oriental show program). Back to hotel overnight. Day 11: After breakfast transfer to the Syrian and Jordanian border. Meet and assist transfer to Amman hotel for overnight. Day 12: After breakfast transfer to Queen Alia Airport for departure. Notes:
