Tour Highlights:
- Best cliff based whale watching in the world - Cliff viewing or optional boat viewing - Tour of Hermanus village - Optional lunch at a Cave restaurant - Wine tasting at top wine estate. Tour Itinerary: The whales come in Hermanus for mating and calving before heading back to the Antarctic at the end of the year. The cliffs at the edge of the sea shore provide an unmatched viewing position to watch the whales display their numerous behavioral patterns. This includes breaching, spy hopping and tail sailing. At times they come us close as 10 meters from the shore. As part of our day tour we also take the opportunity to drive via the spectacular coast road, visiting the beautiful Harold Porter National Gardens at Bettys Bay on the way to Hermanus. On arriving at Hermanus we will scout the best spots for the whales then settle down for a while to enjoy the spectacle. We have an optional lunch at one of the many restaurants along the sea front before moving to another whale watching site. In the afternoon we can try some wine tasting at one of South Africa’s top wine estates before heading back to Cape Town via the N2 road through the over berg. Note: You can also choose to stay overnight in Hermanus. Notes: Prices:
