Tour Itinerary:
Day 1: Arrival in Opatija, meeting with guide and presentation of program. Dinner and overnight in hotel. Day 2: NP Brijuni (Hiking: 3 hours) Breakfast, today s we shall visit the first national park in our program – Brijuni. The Brijuni archipelago covers a group of 14 islands and islets of exceptional beauty. Brijuni were declared a national park in 1984. A ride on a tourist train will take you to the safari park. An expert guide will also show you the remain of a Byzantine fortification, photo-exposition “Tito on Brijuni”, the Archaeological Museum and St. German’s church. After Brijuni we shall visit also Pula with its famous Amphiteatre Arena. Dinner and overnight in hotel. Day 3: NP Risnjak (Hiking: 4,5 hours) Breakfast, Transfer to the national park – Risnjak, a wooded mountain massif to the north of Rijeka; due to its position at the junction between the Alps and the Dinarides, almost all types of forests, as well as many plant and animal species are gathered here, in a relatively small area, including brown bear, lynxes, leaps, dears, eagles; the beauty of the forest, carst phenomena, beautiful springs and magnificent views attract many hikers. Dinner and overnight in hotel. Day 4: NP Paklenica (Hiking: 5,5 hours) Breakfast, Transfer to the national park – Paklenica, a national park on the southern side of Velebit, the largest mountain massif of Croatia. Two impressive canyons of Velika and Mala Paklenica, vertically cut into the mountain from the sea to the peaks are the main attraction of the park; there are several unusual carstic forms, several caves, and extremely rich and varied flora and fauna; monumental steep rock Anica kuk is the most popular destination for Croatian alpinists training. Dinner and overnight in hotel. Day 5: NP Kornati (Hiking: 2 hours) After Breakfast full day boat trip to National park Kornati. Kornati is a unique island group in the Mediterranean. The archipelago is situated among the islands of Žirije, Dugi otok and Pašman, and it was named after the biggest island, Kornat, which presents 64% of the total area of the Kornati archipelago. Out of 152 islands of the Kornati archipelago, 89 of them are specially protected, as belonging to Croatian and world natural heritage, and made into a National Park. Lunch in the Mir Bay followed by a walk to the salt lake Mir. We explore its banks and climb to the cliffs. Dinner and overnight in hotel. Day 6: NP Krka Waterfalls (Hiking: 4 hours) Breakfast, the most beautiful karstic river in Croatia, occupies the area between Knin and Skradin; deep canyons are carved in limestone plateaus; among many waterfalls, the most famous are Skradinski Buk and Roski Slap; between these two wonderful waterfalls is located Visovac Lake and the Franciscan monastery, which is located in the point where river enter the lake. In afternoon walking tour of Šibenik. Dinner and overnight in hotel. Day 7: NP Plitvice Lakes (Hiking: 4 hours) Breakfast, Plitvice lakes are considered one of the most beautiful natural phenomena in the world. The sixteen lakes, connected by waterfalls, cascade through the picturesque surrounding. Plitvice Lakes were declared a national park in 1949. A guided tour of the park lasts about 6 hours including panoramic train, boat and a walking tour. Dinner and overnight in hotel.
