The lodge and surroundings: Located in Unhais da Serra, a village tucked away in Serra da Estrela Natural Park, this hotel is specialized in spa and wellness treatments. Providing you with the ultimate in relaxation, the hotel impresses with its modern design and unique concept. Each of the guest rooms is decorated with contemporary furnishings and natural colors. Marvel at the countryside by looking out of the window. If you prefer, you can also just sit on the sofa and browse through one of the library books. Estrela Natural Park: Serra da Estrela Nature Park is the largest protected area in Portugal, with its 1000 square km. It includes the Serra da Estrela mountain range, which is mainly granite, but which also has a few shale outcrops. Some major Portuguese rivers (Mondego, Zêzere, Alva) have their sources within the boundaries of the Nature Park, which also contains vestiges of ancient glaciers (U-shaped valleys, lagoons, erratic granite boulders, hollows). The park is home to the highest point in mainland Portugal, Torre, which reaches a height of almost 2000 m. Tour Itinerary: Day 1: Arrival day. Transfer from Lisboa or Porto to Unhais da Serra (approximately 3 hours). Day 2: The Aqualudic SPA Center. Today spend your time relaxing in the sauna or making the most of the large landscape pool area. The indoor and outdoor pools are inter-connected, ensuring a hassle-free swim surrounded by replica rock formations and waterfalls. Day 3: Estrela Walking. Explore the area in one of the marked walking trails that start right at the hotel. You can find 2 different kinds of trails in the area: The “canadas” and the “veredas”. The canadas were the trails once used by the shepherds to take the flocks to other areas. These trails have stone walls to keep the animals on the right track. The veredas are beautiful single tracks that exist in the area. Day 4: Estrela Biking. Spend the day exploring some of the trails in a mountain bike at your own rhythm. There are several bike trails in the area depending on the activity level you are looking for. Day 5: Departure. Transfer to Lisboa or Porto (approximately 3 hours). Notes: Price Includes:
