Tour Itinerary:
Day 1: Tallinn-Padise (day route 69 km). Tour starts in the morning from Tallinn, ride along Eurovelo route, out of the city to northern Coast. You can make stops on sights like Rocca-al-Mare Open Air Museum, Rannamõisa and Tabasalu Cliffs. Overnight stay near Padise, tourist farm. Day 2: Padise-Haapsalu (day route 59km). Right in the heart of Padise you will see Padise cloister ruins, climb to the tower to see Estonian landscapes. You will cycle on old Tallinn-Haapsalu road, little traffic, lot of forests and meadows. Your destination Haapsalu is picturesque summer resort, with its nice small wooden houses, castle ruins and beautiful sea promenade. All day through small asphalt road. Overnight in the hotel, the near sea in Haapsalu. Day 3: Haapsalu Kärdla (day route 35 km). From Haapsalu you continue your tour to Rohuküla harbour (10 km), and take a ferry to Hiiumaa Island (1,5 hour by ferry). In Hiiumaa you ride from Heltermaa harbour to “capital city” Kärdla. On the way you can see small Suuremõisa Castle, Pühalepa church, Soera Farm Museum. Kärdla is good place to enjoy peace and quiet and the company of friendly people, enjoy dinner at seaside restaurant. Overnight stay in guesthouse. Day 4: Kärdla-Kassari-Saaremaa (day route 56 km). From Kärdla you continue your tour to Kassari, and can make several stops at sights like Tubala windmills, Kassari Island (Old Wool factory and Hiiumaa museum). After Kassari your route goes to Sõru harbour. 1-hour ferry to Saaremaa Island (17 km). In Saaremaa you ride 3 km from Triigi harbour to your overnight place in tourist farm. Day 5: Leisi-Kuressaare (day route 52 km). Your way goes past the Angla Windmill. This is the only remaining windmill hill on Saaremaa. In 1925, Angla was home to 13 farms and there were nine windmills, now only five are left. Afterwards you will pass Karja Church Saaremaa's smallest medieval church (famous for its decorative elements and some of the most interesting wall frescoes). Just before Kuressaare you can pass the meteorite crater field in Kaali, which is the rarest natural monument in Estonia as well as the most impressive crater field of the whole Eurasia. Your overnight is at the capital of Saaremaa, Kuressaare, home of the bishopric castle dating from the 13th century. This castle is unique in the Baltic. Day 6: Kuressaare – Muhu Island (day rote 75,5 km). Secondary road from Kuressaare towards Muhu Island. Just before crossing 3 km dike/ dam you can visit Maasi fortress ruins near Orissaare. Reaching Muhu Island, you can make stop at small windmill and taste/buy homemade bread. On your way to Koguva village (the majority of the Koguva village buildings are from the beginning of the 19th century and it’s also the most well preserved old village in Estonia) you will pass ostrich farm! Overnight stay in tourism farm in Koguva. Day 7: Muhu – Tõstamaa (day route 98 km). From Koguva village you continue through Muhu Island to Kuivastu harbour. Take ferry (30 minutes) to “main land”, and ride along to western coast to Tõstamaa. On your way you will pas some conservation areas, Illuste manor house, Varbla church and small villages. In Tõstamaa you can visit manor house, park and church. Overnight stay in tourist farm near Tõstamaa. Day 8: Kõpu – Pärnu (day route 35 km). On your last cycling day you will pass seaside road, through golf course and sandy Valgeranna beach. Tour ends in Pärnu, Estonia’s summer capital. Pärnu is a popular summer destination, a seaside resort, and a town with a lively cultural life. It has many shady parks, beautiful sandy beach. Overnight in the guesthouse. Day 9: End of tour.
