Tour Highlights:
- Hathor temple (the main temple) - Temple of the birth of Isis - Sacred Lake - Sanatorium - Mammisi of Nectanebo II - Christian Basilica - Roman Mammisi - Bark shine - Gateways of Domitian & Trajan and - The Roman Kiosk. Collected from you hotel this is a morning visit, driving for one hour going to Qena city north of Luxor 60 km to the temple of the cow goddess Hathor the goddess of love, life, music and motherhood. This temple is famous for the astronomical scenes and zodiacs stars on the ceiling. The temple is a Greek Roman period. It seems that pharaoh Pepi I (ca. 2250 BC) built on this site and evidence exists of a temple in the eighteenth dynasty (ca 1500 BC). But the earliest extant building in the compound today is the Mammisi raised by Nectanebo II – last of the native pharaohs (360-343 BC). This is the only temple in Egypt where you can climb the stairs and walk on the roof of the temple, it is also the only temple with a Calendar on the ceiling, and the only temple where you can go down in a crypt under the ground to see beautiful intact scenes. This is a temple like no other, do not miss this. Member discount: Notes:
