Tour Itinerary:
Day 1: Upon arrival at Lusaka international airport, guest will have to pass immigration before boarding a scheduled Proflight plane for a short 1 ½ hours flight to Mfuwe. From here you will be transferred to Kafunta River Lodge in an open game viewer vehicle. The trip of approx. 45 min. Leads through the long-stretched Mfuwe village passing vendors, schools and the little town itself before you bend into a track road for the last 20 km. Days 2 & 3: After an early morning tea you can join in the various activities. You spend your days exploring the area on game drives, bushwalks or night drives. After the morning activity you return to the lodge for a brunch, after that you may watch animals from your own veranda, the main deck or just relax by the pool. After tea at 15:00 you start again for the afternoon drive which takes place until darkness sets in. While enjoying the magnificent African sunsets you can enjoy your sundowner. Day 4: Today after breakfast you will travel North to Luambe NP. The trip takes about 5 to 6 hours driving through the northern Nsefu sector of South Luangwa National Park. You pass by hot springs, typical African villages and changing scenery. Lunch is taken as a picnic on the way. Luangwa Wilderness Lodge, facing the river lies deep inside the National park and offers a real African bush experience. Days 5 & 6: Depending only on solar power and purifying its own water the lodge tries to invade as little as possible with nature. Being deep in a wilderness area you still don`t have to miss comfort. The safari-style tents built on wooden platform have ensuite facilities, a small electric bulb and a little veranda. In Luambe you can best observe nocturnal animals such as leopard and servals and plenty of hippos. Activities included are a visit to the local village outside the park as well as various community projects. You can learn about conservation work first hand, have lunch in a village (upon arrangement) and talk to locals. Day 7: Charter flight from Waka-Waka airstrip or 4x4 transfer back to Mfuwe for connection to a local flight to Lusaka. At Lusaka airport you will be met and transferred 270 km in 3 to 4 hours by road to Kafue. From Lusaka it is a good tar road passing through the town of Mumbwa until you reach Mukambi. Although the lodge is only a few km off the main road it has a true African atmosphere. The main house with bar and restaurant is facing the Kafue river. Days 8-10: Today you head northwest to the Busanga Plains. The Plains is a wetland area in the far north of Kafue and only accessible by 4x4 from mid-June to October. Large herds of antelopes, buffalos and zebra roam the plains and of course attract predators such as lions. The Plains Camp consists of 4 well furnished safari tents complete with en suite bush bathroom, with toilet and a bucket shower. Day 11: Road transfer back and overnight at Mukambi Safari Lodge. Day 12: Road transfer back to Lusaka and connection to your international flight home. Notes: Price Includes:
