Tour Itinerary:
Days 1 & 2: After arrival in Lusaka you will go through the immigration procedures and then board a plane of Proflight to reach Mfuwe – the gateway to South Luangwa. At Mfuwe airport you will be picked up by an open vehicle and guide from Kafunta River Lodge. Transfer to the lodge through rural Mfuwe and a dirt road. The spacious chalets are constructed with local materials each with a double bed ensuite toilet, shower and a small veranda. Your 3 nights’ accommodation include all meals and 2 activities a day. 2 nights with full board and activities. Days 3-5: After a quick breakfast you will drive approx. 3 hours to reach IslandBush Camp inside the park. This small, personalized camp lies under a grove of Mahogany trees on the banks of the Luangwa River. The Island Bush Camp offers rustic accommodation in grass/reed huts, with the modern comforts of hot showers and running water. Each chalet has a private verandah overlooking the Luangwa. 3 nights with full board and activities. Days 6-9: 4 x 3 transfer north towards Luambe National Park. The drive is at stretches an off-road experience, passing through sandy riverbeds, steep ridges but as well lovely African villages. Luangwa Wilderness Lodge is part of a conservation & community program which can be visited. It is the aim of CCSC (communities for conservation) to help restore and develop Luambe National Park which was once the jewel of the Luangwa Valley with hundreds of Rhinos and at the same time to develop and secure income and a better livelihood for the local people livings outside the park. 4 nights with full board and activities. Day 10: Today you are transferred back to South Luangwa were you have spend one more night at Kafunta before leaving to Lusaka on a Proflight plane. 1 night Kafunta River Lodge on full-board plus activities. Days 11-14: Transfer to Mfuwe airport to board a charter plane for a flight to the Lower Zambezi Royal Airstrip. The Royal Zambezi Lodge is an exclusive 5 Star family-owned property situated on the banks of the mighty Zambezi River on the edge of the unique Lower Zambezi National Park, directly opposite Mana Pools, Zimbabwe. Activities available include game viewing, sunset river cruises, professionally guided canoeing trips, open vehicle guided drives, night drives, walking safaris, birding safaris and photographic safaris. 4 nights Royal Zambezi Lodge on full-board plus activities. Day 15: Charter flight to Lusaka. Connection to international destination. Notes: The last 4 days can be changed to a medium or even budget prices lodge, thus reducing the price.
