Often overshadowed by its bigger neighbours Thailand, Vietnam and Cambodia - Laos quietly goes about its business. With a population of only 6 million of the most chilled out people we have ever come across, the heavily forested and mountainous Laos quite possibly has Southeast Asia's most pristine environment. Immerse yourself in the culture and enchanting history of this tropical, hospitable, seldom traveled and unspoiled region.

We begin our biking adventure in the world heritage town of Luang Prabang and explore very rural northern Laos looping through both remote hill tribal areas and lowland regions. We visit the mysterious Plain of Jars at Phonsavanh which was also a central point during the Laotian Civil War, try elephant riding and take a boat trip on the Nam Ou river as we return to Luang Prabang.

Quiet roads, friendly people, tasty food and spectacular scenery combine to make this an awesome biking adventure.

What is the biking like?

10 days biking - 90% on quiet paved roads, and a wee bit of non-technical unpaved road. While most of the riding on this trip is on paved roads the terrain is hilly so a good level of fitness will add to the enjoyment of your trip. This trip is suited to bikers with a good level of fitness and hill climbing ability. From 30 km to 120 km per day. Total distance approximately 640 km.

The basic low-down.

We travel in a loop through the very rural Northern Laos. Luang Prabang to Luang Prabang. 100% vehicle supported. Our trusty support vehicle carries all your luggage, helps you up those hills (if you like) and always has lunch, snacks and water at hand. Group size minimum 5, maximum 12 plus M15202 leaders and local crew. Accommodation is twin share - 5 nights in hotels and 7 nights local guesthouses. Food includes 3 meals per day from dinner on Day 1 to breakfast This excludes one lunch and five evening meals which are at your own expense to give you the opportunity to experience local cuisine of your own choosing.
