Tour Itinerary:
Day 1: Cairo. Welcome to Egypt and be ready to seek the treasures as we move along from one desert to another – one oasis to another. Our representative will meet and assist you through customs and accompany you to your hotel. As we drive through the streets of Cairo, spot the treasures captured in the architecture of the buildings. The Baron Palace being a treasure of complete mystery and intrigue. For those who arrive morning or mid day, don’t forget to look at our Excursions to experience more of Cairo. Over night in Cairo. Day 2: Pyramids and Saqqara. Good morning Cairo. Let us meet the greatest treasures in all of Egypt. The three Pyramids of Giza together with the majestic Sphinx. Spend your time riding camels through the desert-like plateau and join us to meet yet another treasure. The Stepped Pyramid of Djoser in Saqqara, which is the oldest building of mankind. We will return to Cairo and have a delicious dinner along the Nile. Over night in Cairo. Includes: (B). Day 3: Bahariya. Early morning rise to drive to Bahariya, which means Northern Oasis. Yes, this will be your first oasis experience in the green and fertile country of Egypt. Over night in Bahariya Includes: (B), (L), (D). Day 4: Bahariya Oasis, Black Desert and White Desert. This morning we continue by 4 x 4 and we visit the Temple of Alexander the Great, Tombs of the Nobles and the Black Desert. Its name originates from the small black stones scattered along the sands, giving it the black façade. Get ready for a perfect contrast. The striking White Desert is full of unusual wind-eroded limestone formations and this will be our home for the night. Over night in White Desert. Includes: (B), (L), (D). Day 5: Farafra Oasis and Dakhla Oasis. Our morning drive leads to the Farafra oasis, where you can enjoy a dip in the natural springs. Continuing to Dakhla, a true treasure is found in medieval city of Al Qasr. We wander through the high walled city, mosque, school, olive press and courts. Many of the houses here have acacia wood lintels above the doorways which Islamic script inscriptions name the builder or occupants of the dwelling. Yet another treasure Deir al-Haggar, which is the Roman Temple dedicated to the Theban Triad. Over night in Dakhla. Includes: (B), (L), (D). Day 6: Kharga Oasis and Luxor. We leave Dakhla Oasis for yet another amazing oasis – Kharga. We will visit the Temple of Hibis, the rambling 4th century necropolis of al- Bagawat and the temple ruins of Deir al-Kashef where we will have a traditional Egyptian lunch. Then we drive towards the treasured city of Luxor. We will arrive by night time. Over night in Luxor. Includes: (B), (L). Day 7: Luxor. Join us this morning to visit the east bank treasures of the Temple of Karnak – now considered one of the wonders of the world for its size and statues. Yet another treasure of its kind is the Temple of Luxor. Considered one of the most beautiful temples in all of Egypt. Tonight you have a free evening to walk along the Nile and shop for gold, silver and alabaster. Over night in Luxor (B). Day 8: Luxor. A busy day of seeking west bank treasures in the Valley of the Kings, the Valley of the Queens, the Temple of Hatshepsut and last but not the least, the Colossi of Memnon. Spend your last few hours in Luxor getting ready for our night train back to Cairo. Over night train to Cairo. Includes: (B). Day 9: Cairo. We arrive back in Cairo early morning to visit the Egyptian Museum. Literally thousands of treasures are housed in this museum with at least 70% of all on display. Over night in Cairo. Includes: (B). Day 10: Transfer to Airport. For those who depart late afternoon or evening, don’t forget to look at our Excursions to spend some more time with us in Cairo.
