Tour Itinerary:
Day 1: Arrival in Tashkent. Pick up at the Airport and hotel check in. Overnight in Tashkent. Day 2: Breakfast at the hotel. Transfer to airport for morning flight to Urgench. Arrival in Urgench. Transfer to Khiva (35 km). Accommodation in hotel. City tour around the architectural complex "Ichan-Qala" (12-19th c): Kunya-Ark khan's castle - the inner citadel of Ichan-Qala (16-17th c), Kalta Minor Tower that would have become the biggest minaret in Central Asia (19th c), Muhammad Amin-Khan - the biggest medieval medressa in Khiva (1845-1855), Djuma Mosque with 220 wooden columns and a minaret 32,5 m height (10th c). Also you will be amazed by the beauty of Tash-Hauli palace looking like a fortress with a high battlements, towers and fortified gates (19th c), Ak-Mosque (White Mosque) - a small quarter mosque by the gates of Palvan-Darvaza (1838-1842), necropolis of Pahlavan Mahmud - the cultic center of Ichan-Qala (1810-1913), residence of Islam Khodja (1910) - the vizier of the last khan. Ensemble consists of the smallest medressa in Khiva and a minaret whose top platform has a height of 45 m and is the highest observation point in town. Overnight in Khiva. Day 3: Breakfast at the hotel. Coach trip to Bukhara via the Kizil-Kum desert along the Caravan road (480 km, 6-7 hrs). Arrival in Bukhara, accommodation in hotel. Free time. Overnight in Bukhara. Day 4: Breakfast at the hotel. City tour that will include visiting the mausoleum of the Samanids - the most ancient brick building in Central Asia, a masterpiece of world architecture (9-10th c), mausoleum Chashma Ayub that belongs to the esteemed "places of trace" left by saints persons (14th c). The legend says that once the bible prophet Job (Ayub) visited this place. Visit to the museums of Imam Al Bukhari and "The Museum of Water". "Bolo-Houz Mosque" - the only monument of medieval Bukhara (beg. of 20th c), Ark - the center of Bukhara statehood (4th c. BC), silk carpet shops, complex "Poi Kalon" ("Beneath the Great"): "Kalyan Minaret" - the main symbol of sacred Bukhara that symbolized the authority and power of the spiritual governors. "Kalyan Mosque"- its area of 130x80 m surpasses Bibi-Khanym mosque in Samarkand, "Miri Arab Madrassah" - active madrassah is one of the most esteemed spiritual Islamic universities (16th c), "Taki Zargaron" - the dome of jewelers (15-16th c), "Ulugbeg Medressa" - one of the 3 madrassahs constructed by the grandson of Tamerlan - Ulugbeg (15th c), "Abdulaziz-khan Madrassah" - traditional madrassah with 2 floors of hudjras and a mosque on the central axis (mid. of 17th c), Tim of Abdullah-Khan madrassah (1588-1590), atlas shops, "Magoki-Attari Mosque" - the most ancient mosque in Bukhara (12th c) is considered a masterpiece of Bukhara architecture, "Khanaka and madrassah of Nadir Divan-Beghi" - a massive rectangular structure that was a place for the refuge and meditation of Sufis (17th c), "Kukeldash Madrassah" (16th c) - one of the biggest Bukhara madrassah, "Lyabi-Hauz" ensemble - the largest artificial reservoir of medieval Bukhara - is very popular among tourists (14-17th c). Overnight in Bukhara. Day 5: Breakfast at the hotel. Continuation of city tour: walking excursion through the old district, "Chor Minor" ("Four minarets") (18th c). Tour outside the city: the Emir's Summer Residence Sitorai Mokhi-Khosa (19th c), memorial necropolises of Chor Bakr (10th c), visit to the Bahouddin Nakshbandi mausoleum (16-19th c), and to the sepulchers of his mother and his preceptor (14th c). Visit to Zirobod - an ancient Persian settlement. There is a belief that the age of the settlement is 2500 years. Historical sources claim the settlement was established in the 4thcentury BC by ancient Persian tribes. Visit an Ethnographic museum and ancient mosque. Overnight in Bukhara. Day 6: Breakfast at the hotel. Coach trip to Shakhrisabz (295 km, 5 hrs). City tour: ruins of Ak-Saray Palace (14-15th c), Khazrati Imam Complex, Dor-ut Tillavat (15-16th c), Gumbazi-Seiidan Makbarat of Ulughbek, Kok Gumbaz mosque (15th c), Jahongir mausoleum, visit to the factory of art items "Khudjun". Transfer Shakhrisabz - Samarkand (170 km, 3 hrs). Hotel check in & overnight in Samarqand. Day 7: Breakfast at the hotel. City tour: Excavations and museum of the ancient city of Afrosiab, Architectural complex Shahi-Zinda (Alive king) (11-15th c), Ulughbek Observatory. Overnight in Samarqand. Day 8: Breakfast at the hotel. City tour: Registan Square ("A sandy place"): Ulugbeg Medressa (15th c), Medreseh Shir-Dor (17th c), Medreseh Tilla-Kori (17th c), Gur Emir Mausoleum - Tamerlan's tomb (14-15th c), Bibi-Khanym Mosque, market place. Visit to the natural silk processing workshop "Aiesha". Overnight in Samarqand. Day 9: Breakfast at the hotel. Coach trip to Tashkent (340 km, 4 hrs). Accommodation in hotel. City tour around Tashkent: Independence Square, Navoi Theater square, Barak-khan Medressa, The Kaffal-Shashi mausoleum (15th c), Kukeldash Medressa (16th c), the Djuma mosque (9th c). Visit to the Opera and Ballet Theater named after Alisher Navoi. Overnight in Tashkent. Day 10: Breakfast at the hotel. Transfer to the Fergana Valley (417 km, 4.5 hrs) via Kokand. City tour: Palace of Khudoyar-khan (1870), Gishtlik Mosque (1913), Djami Mosque and Minaret (1809-1812), Kamol-Kazy Madrasseh (the middle of the 19th c), Mulkabad Mosque (1913), Miyen-Hazrat Madrasseh (the end of the 18th c), Dahman-Shakhon and Madirakhan Necropolis (early 19th c.). Afternoon arrival to Fergana. Hotel accommodation. Overnight in Fergana. Day 11: Breakfast at the hotel. Transfer to Tashkent. Free time in Tashkent. Overnight in Tashkent.
