Tour Itinerary:
Day 1: Arrive to Bogota and take your transfer to your hotel Boheme Royal, located in one of Bogota's best restaurant, bar and shopping district, Zona T. After settling into hotel meet Amanda your Colombia representative who will personally hand you any documents needed such as e-tickets. Afterwards get ready to depart for your night tour which will begin by passing through the Calera, which boasts panoramic views of the city lights below before arriving to San Andres Carne De Res, named one of the hottest restaurants and bars in South America. Here you will have time to eat dinner before partying Colombian style in the colorful and dramatic atmosphere. Depart restaurant at 1:00 am and return back to your hotel. Day 2: Day trip to the beautiful lake ‘Laguna de Guatavita’ the cradle of the El Dorado legend and which was the ritual center of the Muisca Indians who would honor their gods by throwing gold and emeralds into the lake. The lake itself is a beautiful emerald green and boasts beautiful nature around its diameter and which is truly invigorating to walk through. Here you will have a guide tell you about this land and lakes extensive mystical history. After a walk around Guatavita, you will drive to Zipaquirá. The town is primarily known for its incredible Salt mine Cathedral, an underground church built inside a salt deposit in a tunnel made as result of the exploitation of the salt mines. Return to Bogota. (includes typical lunch). Day 3: Take your transfer at 11.00am to the national airport for a flight to Cartagena. Upon arrival to Cartagena you will be dropped off to your apartment located in the Bocagrande district. At night take a Chiva tour, a typical way to party in Colombia on an open aired brightly colored traditional bus, which will take you around the Caribbean city to the sounds of music and warm tropical breezes. On this tour you will also have access to an open bar of national drinks and typical Cartagena snacks. The bus will end at one of Cartagena’s night clubs, where you can continue the night with a fantastic Caribbean-Colombian party! (2 hours on bus) (must arrange own taxi to hotel at end of night from nightclub). Day 4: Begin your Cartagena tour by passing through the modern districts of Cartagena before visiting the old monastery La Popa which overlooks Cartagena Bay and which represents much of Cartagena’s history. Afterwards explore the mighty Fortress of San Felipe, situated in its strategic spot that once defended attacking pirates. Tour its underground passageways, watchtowers and rooms to learn about its historic past. (4 hours). Afternoon free to explore the old walled city independently return to apartment via taxi (not included). Day 5: Day trip to the beautiful tropical Rosario Islands where the coral reefs are renowned for their incredible diversity and where the sea is crystal clear, and idyllically warm to swim in. Your transfer will pick you up from the hotel early morning and take you to the port where you will board the islands boat to Isla Grande, here you will have the day to relax on the island at the Hotel San Pedro De Majagua and enjoy a delicious island seafood buffet lunch. The opportunity here to Scuba dive, snorkel or kayak is readily available so take a little extra cash for the optional activities. Return to Cartagena in the late afternoon. Day 6: Trip to Volcan Del Totumo, a volcano outside of Cartagena and which is renowned for its healing properties in its mud. Here you will take a mud bath in the small volcano crater and benefit from its rich minerals. Return to Cartagena in the late afternoon. Day 7: Free day to explore Cartagena declared a UNESCO site. Day 8: After lunch take your transfer to the airport to board your flight to Bogota. Take connecting flight. Notes: Price Excludes:
