Tour Itinerary: Day 1: Arrival and pick-up at Keflavik Airport at 3:30 pm and transfer to hotel. At 5:00 pm Reykjavik City Sightseeing. 8:00 pm take your dinner and enjoy a free evening. Day 2: At 9:00 am departure for a trip around Iceland, starting at the south: Visit to a Geothermal Power Station, Thingvellir National Park and historical site, Gullfoss, the Golden Waterfall and Geysir, the spouting hot spring and many other interesting places. Late afternoon we visit Thjorsardalur, spectacular nature and historical excavation and stay overnight in a highland hotel. Day 3: In the morning visit to Landmannalaugar a colorful volcanic landscape with the possibility of a relaxing bath in a natural pool. Visit to Hekla, the mighty volcano and in the afternoon we cross unbridged rivers to visit spectacular nature reserve Thorsmork, paradise for the nature lover. Dinner and overnight stay in country hotel. Day 4: Visit to Skogafoss, a beautiful waterfall and Skogar Museum, probably the best ethnic museum in Iceland. In the afternoon the south coast, Reynisdrangar, spectacular cliff formations and Dyrholaey bird paradise. Dinner and overnight stay in the beautiful glacial surroundings at Skaftafell. Day 5: Hiking and touching the glaciers in the Skaftafell National Park and in the afternoon visit to the glacial lagoon Jokulsarlon, with the floating icebergs. Driving highway no. 1 along the coast, under the mighty Vatnajokull glacier, to fishing village Hofn. Optional snow scooter ride on the glacier. Visit to the glacier museum, dinner and overnight stay in Hofn. Day 6: The East Fjords, with spectacular landscape, high mountains and deep fjords. Visit to Petras stone museum and lunch at Egilsstadir, the most prosperous town in the east, located at the lake Logurinn. In the afternoon visits to nearby sites and fjords. Overnight stay at Egilsstadir. Day 7: We drive to the east highlands and see the biggest construction project in the history of Iceland, a hydroelectrical power station, which is presently under construction. Lunch at Saenautasel, a old reconstructed farm at the heath. In the afternoon we drive to Askja in the central highlands and visit the Lake Askja, which is located in a huge volcanic caldera, at an altitude of 1100 meters. Overnight stay in a highland cottage. Day 8: Visit to Myvatn, second biggest lake in Iceland. Beautiful volcanic scenery and unique bird life. Active geothermal and volcanic area. Visit to glacial river Jokulsa and Dettifoss, the most powerful waterfall in Iceland. Overnight stay at a hotel at Myvatn. Day 9: Drive to Akureyri, the capital of the north where we take a look at the town and can relax in the open air swimming pool. In the afternoon we proceed on highway no. 1 through the north-west, visiting historical sites and enjoying a fantistic scenery. Dinner and overnight stay at Blonduos. Day 10: Drive back to Reykjavik, through the historical farmland Borgarfjordur and visit to Reykholt, which was home to Iceland´s most famous writer, Snorri Sturluson, in the 13th century. Back to Reykjavik in the afternoon, with free time and dinner in Reykjavik. Day 11: At 9:00 am check-out and transfer to the Blue Lagoon for a relaxing bath.
