On Sunday, December 16th, 1944 while the people of the Ardennes prepare for their first Christmas since the liberation of Belgium, German artillery weapons capture the American positions in the Belgian Ardennes. A total of 250,000 soldiers accompanied by 1,000 tanks, march through the Ardennes.
9AM Pick up from your Brussels hotel and drive to Namur, the capital of Wallonia. Picture stop at the Citadel, a military fortress located at the top of the hill with amazing views overlooking the town and the Meuse valley. Proceed to Bastogne and stop for lunch at Mc Aulif square. We then go to the Mardasson Memorial followed by the War Museum dedicated to the Second World War. Here you will step back in time and experience the reality of the Battle of the Bulge. From the causes of the Battle to its dramatic consequences, you will be immersed in a highly interactive experience.

This countryside is exceptionally rich in wildlife; there are many rivers. The whole area is a gourmet's paradise. When Belgian city dwellers want to get away for a weekend to the country and sample excellent food, they head for the Ardennes.
