Day 1: Beijing.
Arrive in Beijing, the capital of China. You are greeted by your guide at the airport and transferred to the four-star Holiday Inn Downtown Hotel.
Day 2: Beijing.
Travel to the Great Wall, one of the eight ancient wonders of between 6000- 6500 km long built over several centuries to keep out the invading northern tribes. After a hike along a portion of the Wall, you visit the Ming Tombs, a secluded valley housing 14 imperial burial mounds. Includes: (B, L).
Day 3: Beijing.
Morning tour starts with the Gugong, also called the Forbidden City, in scripted as a UNESCO world cultural heritage site in 1987.Built between 1406-1420, it is the largest palace of the world complex covering 74 hectares. It has 9999 halls and rooms in which emperors lived for over 500 hundred years in Ming and Qing dynasties. Walk leisure around Tian An Men Square to admire the grandeur of the largest public squares in the world.
After lunch you will visit the biggest and most important imperial Temple of China, Temple of Heaven, where emperors performed annual rituals of sacrifice to ensure prosperity for future generations. Then you drive through the city for an overview of Beijing until you arrive for leisure tour to the Summer Palace which was built 800 years ago. It is the second largest and best-preserved royal garden in China, with 294 hectares including the beautiful and serene Kunming Lake. Includes: (B, L).
Day 4: Beijing.
Morning ride in three-wheeled rickshaws through Beijing's Hutong, experiencing the lifestyle of the Beijing locals. Proceed to visit Lama Temple , the only Beijing city temple that survived the Cultural Revolution. It is the largest Lama Temple outside Tibet. It was built in 1694 and the architecture and ornamentation of the buildings show the influence of Han, Manchu, Mongolian and Tibetan styles. This afternoon visit 798 Factory, it is a new rising, avant-garde and trendy space that hosts high-level cultural, artistic and commercial activities. Includes: (B, L).
Day 5: Beijing - Xian.
Fly to Xian in the morning. You are greeted by your guide and transferred to the four-star Aurum International Hotel. Continue to visit the majestic Big Wild Goose Pagoda. It is a well-preserved ancient building and a holy place for Buddhists. Then visit Ancient City Wall. It's the most complete city wall that has survived in China, as well being one of the largest ancient military defensive systems in the world. Includes: (B, L).
Day 6: Xian.
A full day tour to visit Terracotta Warriors. It is the most significant archeological excavations of the 20th century. It was listed by UNESCO in 1987 as one of the world cultural heritages. The museum covers an area of 16,300 square meters, divided into three sections: No. 1 Pit, No. 2 Pit, and No. 3 Pit respectively. Includes: (B, L).
Day 7: Xian - Kunming.
Fly to Kunming in the morning, the Spring City of China. Located on the east edge of the Tibet Plateau, Kunming is accompanied by warm weather year round. Check into the four-star New Era Hotel. In the afternoon, you will climb the Western Hills where you will find both Taoist and Buddhism temples on the top. A very beautiful lake view of the Dianchi Lake comes into sight while you are on the top of the Dragon Hills Gate. On the way down, you will visit the Huating Temple, containing 500 sculptures of the disciples of the Buddha. Includes: (B, L).
Day 8: Kunming.
A full day excursion takes you to the Stone Forest, one of the natural wonders of the area, and a typical Karstic Landscape. On the way, you will enjoy a visit to a typical Chinese village and meet the local people. Includes: (B, L).
Day 9: Kunming - Dali.
You will take an early flight to Dali, an important stop on the Yunnan-Tibetan Highway. In the afternoon, tour the Erhai Lake and enjoy the Folk Songs and Dances of the Bai ethnic minority while the famous Three Course Tea presented. You will find the crystal blue lake and the green mountain range nearby look alike a Chinese painting. Then take a look of the symbol of Dali, the Three Pagodas built 1,300 years ago. You can have a leisurely stroll in Old Town Dali at evening. Overnight at the four-star Asia Star Hotel. Includes: (B, L).
Day 10: Dali - Lijiang.
Today, you will drive to Lijiang. Lijiang, bordering Tibet, is a small town with a spectacular mountain backdrop. After lunch, you will visit the Black Dragon Pool and the Dongba Culture Exhibition Museum, which represents the Dongba Pictographic Characters and Naxi Minorities mysterious Culture, some of which still use the matriarchal social system up till today. Late afternoon, tour the ancient Town of Dayan, a World Heritage Site in China recognized by the United Nations in 1999. Check into the four-star Grand Hotel. Includes: (B, L).
Day 11: Lijiang.
A whole day tour starts with a visit to Yufeng Si, a traditional Lamasery famous for its 1000-year-old Camellia Tree. Take cable car ascending Jade Dragon Snow Mountain to visit Yak grassland, and tour the Baisha Mural in Baisha Naxi minority village. Includes: (B, L).
Day 12: Lijiang - Zhongdian.
Full day tour takes you to northwest of Lijiang Old Town to visit Tiger Leaping Gorge, which is believed to be the deepest gorge in the world. Continue driving to Zhongdian and check into the four-star Holy Palace Hotel. Includes: (B, L).
Day 13: Zhongdian - Kunming.
Visit Samzoling Monastery, Pudacuo Scenic Area including Bita Lake, Shudu Lake and Xiagei Tibetan Village. Fly back to Kunming in the late afternoon and check into the hotel. Includes: (B, L).
Day 14: Kunming - Chiang Mai.
After breakfast fly to Chiang Mai, Thailand's second city. It is a comfortable yet sophisticated town and gateway to the mountains of northern Thailand. You are greeted by your guide at the airport and transferred to Porn Ping Hotel or similar. Includes: (B, L, D).
Day 15: Chiang Mai.
Full day tour takes you to visit the Doi Suthep Temple, Symbol of Chiang Mai. Situated 3,520 meters above sea level, the temple offers panoramic views of the city and surrounding plains at the end of a 300-step climb, flanked by nagas (mythical serpents), Then visit elephant camp to see elephants at work, including a demonstration of how trained elephants are used to help in lumber work. Day 16: Chiang Mai - Bangkok.
After breakfast drive to visit a Meo hill tribe. These people are agricultural; planting fields, raising animals, and hunting for a living. Later you will visit some local handicrafts. In the afternoon fly to Bangkok. Check into Emerald Hotel or similar. Includes: (B, L, D).
Day 17: Bangkok.
Drive across the city into the inner core to see the contrast between old and new Bangkok. Visit the outstanding temples (Wat) such as -Wat Pho famous for its Reclining Buddha, Wat Trimitr, the largest Golden Buddha of the world that is believed to be about 700 years old. Continue to visit the Royal Grand Palace, home of the Chapel Royal of the Emerald Buddha and the most sacred Buddha in Thailand. After a visit to the floating market, you will drive back to the hotel. Includes: (B, L, D)
Day 18 Bangkok.
Free day at your own leisure. Includes: (B).
Day 19: Bangkok.
After breakfast transfer to the airport for your departure flight. Includes: (B).
