Day 1: We’ll leave Kampala after breakfast for the journey to Lake Mburo National Park. The lovely landscape is complemented by Lake Mburo itself and four smaller lakes, beautiful and tranquil surrounding where you’ll see impala, eland, klipspringer, waterbuck, zebra and buffalo. After a picnic lunch, we’ll take a canoe trip in the afternoon to see a variety of water birds. Your guide will keep you at a safe distance from hippos and crocs! Dinner and overnight.
Day 2: After a substantial breakfast, we’ll leave Lake Mburo and make the scenic journey to the western Uganda and the stunning volcanic scenery of the Virungas Mountains. En route, we’ll visit Lake Bunyonyi. Dinner and overnight.
Day 3: Morning and lunch on Lake Bunyonyi, including a canoe ride round the myriad of islands, after lunch depart for Bwindi. Dinner and overnight at Bwindi.
Day 4: Gorilla tracking. Dinner and overnight.
Day 5: After a substantial breakfast we’ll travel on to Queen Elizabeth National Park for lunch going through the Southern Sector, called Ishasha, for a game drive where we'll have the chance to see tree climbing lions. This afternoon we’ll take a launch trip to explore the Kazinga Channel; here we’ll see pods of hippos, buffaloes and elephants. The bird life on the water is fascinating and abundant. Dinner and overnight.
Day 6: After a cup of coffee or tea, we’ll take a morning game drive in the park. Look out for the prides of lions and herds of elephant. Buffalo, bushbuck and kob are quite common here, and if we are lucky you will see the spectacular giant forest hog. After lunch we’ll take a tour to Queen Elizabeth National Park’s extraordinary scenic crater lakes area on the way to Fort Portal. Dinner and overnight.
Day 7: Today we’ll visit Kibale Forest, home to an astonishing 12 species of primates and providing one of the highest primate densities in the world. Here, on our guided forest walk, we may find families of chimps and red colobus monkeys chattering and swinging through the ancient forest trees. And the bird life is no less impressive! During the day we’ll visit Bigodi Swamp for its rare and beautiful flora and fauna and visit a community tourist project. Dinner and overnight.
Day 8: Today we will visit the hot springs in Semliki and spend the day relaxing. Dinner and overnight.
Day 9: After a substantial breakfast, we’ll leave for the journey to Murchison Falls National Park. Upon arrival, we'll drive to the top of the falls for an amazing view. Relaxing dinner and overnight.
Day 10: Early this morning we’ll experience our first scenic game drive in the park. Our ranger will help us to view the extraordinary variety of wildlife living here, including Uganda Kob, elephant, lion, giraffe, antelope, a vast variety of eagles and much more. In the afternoon, we’ll take the amazing launch trip to the Murchison Falls on the River Nile.
We’ll see pods of hippos, crocs, vast numbers of exotic birds and butterflies (in Murchison, there are over 300 varieties) and a myriad of wildlife at the water's edge. Hopefully, we will see the legendary but elusive shoebill stork. The falls themselves are one of Africa’s wonders-the whole of Victoria Nile bursting majestically through a six metre gap to an awesome forty metre drop. Dinner and overnight.
Day 11: After breakfast, we’ll leave our lodge to travel back to Kampala. En route, we will stop at the Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary for an informative session on these endangered species. Dinner and overnight.
Day 12: Today your guide will take you on a city tour of Kampala and/or Entebbe. Visit the National Theater for craft shopping, the Bahai temple, the Uganda National Museum in Kampala. In Entebbe, visit the Uganda Wildlife Education Centre and the Botanical Gardens.
