While on this tour, you will be see wildlife and birds in Queen Elizabeth National Park. Here you will have chances of seeing animals including elephant, lion, buffalo, hippo, leopard, with a common sight of the Antelope families and variety of bird species. The top of the safari will be the rare shoebill stork. You will also track chimpanzees in the nearby Kyambura Gorge and thereafter visit Ishasha with the highest concentration of wildlife in Queen Elizabeth park. Lucky enough you may see the famous tree-climbing lions which casually rest in the upper trees branches. you will head for gorilla tracking in Bwindi south, explore crater lake and rest at Bunyonyi before before coming back to Kampala for transfer and departure.
ITINERARY FOR GORILLA TRACKING AND GAME – 7 DAYS Day One: Arrival Arrive at Entebbe air port; meet with our staff for greeting and introduction thereafter transfer you to a hotel in Kampala for overnight. O/N: Pope Paul hotel or Africana hotel or Sheraton. (BB) Day Two: Kampala – Queen Elizabeth Park Today, you will head for Queen Elizabeth via Mbarara (283km from Kampala) via Masaka with a stop over at the drum makers and crafts and then at the Equator crossing for snacks and photography. You will arrive Queen Elizabeth National Park very late in the afternoon. on you way to the lodge you will see game and several bird species as you pass through through the park. [Approximate driving time: 6 hours] O/N: Bush Lodge or Simba Safari Camp or Mweya safari Lodge (FB). Day Three: Chimpanzee tracking (Kyambura Gorge) Wake up early in the morning for today’s visit to Kyambura gorge for chimpanzee tracking, an encounter with these man’s closest primate is a remarkable experience you will ever have. In the afternoon, you will be taken for a boat cruise on the Kazinga Channel where you will be able to see wildlife like Elephants, Hippos, Crocodile and different bird species. you will alsoo go for an evening game drive to search for more animals in the park. O/N: Bush Lodge or Simba Safari Camp or Mweya safari Lodge (FB). Day Four: Queen Elizabeth Park – Bwindi Forest Park Wake up early for an early morning game drive before starting off the journey to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest. Along the way in Ishasha, if weather conditions permit you may see tree-climbing lions then drive Bwindi south for dinner and overnight. [Approximate driving time: 4 hours] O/N: Gorilla forest camp or Travellers Rest Hotel (FB) Day Five: Gorilla tracking You will go to the jungle at around 8:00am after breakfast in the morning, with packed lunch and porters to Track Gorillas this is the climax of the tour. Gorilla tracking can take 3 -9 hours on walking in the jungle before one returns to his/her accommodation, the jungle, precipitous landscape (5200 feet plus) and rain may make the tour challenging and you need physical fitness but with a close encounter face-face with the largest primate of Africa is a remarkable experience you will ever have in life. O/N Gorilla forest camp or Heritage Hotel Kisoro (FB). Day Six: Bwindi – Kampala Take a gentle drive back to Kampala via Kabale, Mbarara, through the Ankole – Masaka dry corridor to Kampala city. (BB) Day Seven: Departure You will then transfer to the airport for your return flight back home; as you keep remembering the pearl of Africa. Notes: - This safari starts and finishes in Entebbe.
