Queen Elizabeth National Park (QE), is located at the foothills of the Rwenzoris, it is understandably Uganda’s most popular tourist destination. The park’s diverse ecosystems, which include African sprawling savanna, shady, humid forests, sparkling lakes and fertile wetlands, make it the ideal habitat for classic big game including the climbing lions, ten primate species including chimpanzees and over 600 species of birds.. The park which is part of the western arm of the Great East African Rift Valley, is centered around Lake Edward and Lake George. The launch trip along the Kazinga Channel linking these two lakes is especially good for viewing hippos, buffaloes, elephants and a large host of birds respiting along the banks of the channel. As well as its outstanding wildlife attractions, Queen Elizabeth National Park has a fascinating cultural history. There are many opportunities for visitors to meet the local communities and enjoy storytelling, dance, music and more.
TOUR ITINERARY Day One: Arrival Arrive at Entebbe air port; meet with our staff for greeting and introduction thereafter transfer you to a hotel in Kampala for overnight. O/N: Pope Paul hotel or Africana hotel or Sheraton. (BB) Day Two: Entebbe – Queen Elizabeth Park Having taken breakfast, you depart for Queen Elizabeth Park, drive via Masaka through the Ankole-Masaka dry corridor. You will continue past Lake mburo game park enroute and if you are a lacky one, you may not miss spoting the common Zebras and kobs as they grace near the road. Stopover in Mbarara for lunch and thereafter continue to Quen Elizabeth National Park were you will go for an afternoon game drive in the park searching for animals. O/N Simba Safari Camp or Mweya safari Lodge (FB). Day Three: Queen Elizabeth National Park Set off early in morning for a game drive as you fabulous animals of the pearl, visit Katwe and buffaloes can never miss your sight here. Guinea fowls and other bird species, elephants, giraffes, and Kobs in their mating grounds can be viewed as there are chances seeing tree climbing lions on your rummage. After lunch take an afternoon boat cruise on Kazinga channel as you view fauna at a closer range, hippos, other animals and several bird species will be seen as the get water to douse themselves. O/N Simba Safari Camp or Mweya safari Lodge (FB). Day Four: Queen Elizabeth National Park – Lake Mburo Park In the morning visit Kyambura Gorge and later leave for Lake Mburo Park, where you will go for a launch cruise on the lake and search for zebras, kobs, hippos and many bird species by the lake. In the evening take a night game drive on a safari vehicle wit spotlights searching for nocturnal like the leopard which you may have chances of seeing. O/N: Arcadia Mburo Cottages or Mburo safari lodge (FB). Day Five: Mburo Park – Kampala Take a gentle drive back to Kampala through the Ankole – Masaka dry corridor to Kampala city. O/N: Pope Paul hotel or Africana hotel or Sheraton. (HB) Day Six: Departure The driver shall transfer you to the airport for your return flight back home; as you keep remembering the pearl of Africa.
