Tour Itinerary:
Day 1: Kampala. You'll be personally met 0n arrival at Entebbe airport, and transferred to Kampala. (For those arriving earlier, an afternoon excursion can be planned to the famous tombs of the Kabaka kings, Uganda museum, Bahai temple and Namugongo Martyrs shrine where 22 Christian convicts were killed under Kabaka (King of Buganda) - Mwanga in 1988. Have refreshment and overnight at Royal Hotel/Serena Hotel/Sheraton Kampala/luxurious accommodation), Hotel Africana/Grand imperial hotel. Day 2: Kibale National Park. Following a heavy breakfast, Leave Kampala for the fascinating drive through papyrus swamps and thick jungle of the Nile Delta to Kibale National Park just under the Rwenzori Mountains. Afternoon guided nature walk in the crater lakes area of the park for outstanding cultural visit. Meals and overnight at Ndali Lodge, a stunning location overlooking a dramatic Crater Lake and the fabled "Mountains of the Moon"/Mantana luxury Tented Camp/Rwenzori View Guest House/Ataco Guest house (Medium class accommodation) or Primate Lodge Kibale Banda’s for basic and budget travelers. Day 3: Kibale - Queen Elizabeth Park. Early morning after breakfast, trek for chimpanzees. Kibale is the best reserve in Africa to view chimps, a thick jungle with a towering canopy. In the afternoon, drive to the south into Queen Elizabeth National Park, sightseeing and game viewing enrooted. Dinner and overnight at spectacular Mweya Lodge perched right on the edge of the escarpment overlooking the Ugandan Great Lakes/Jacana safari Lodge Day 4: Queen Elizabeth Park. Early morning, dawn game drive in Uganda’s best park, where all the big game can be seen in abundance. Famous for elephant and kob, expect to see some rarer animals like giant forest hog. There are 638 recorded bird species in the park! Lunch the hotels; in the evening enjoy a boat cruise on the Kazinga Channel which connects Lakes Edward and George, for large numbers of buffalo and breeding hippos plus a variety of bird species. Dinner and overnight at spectacular Mweya Lodge perched right on the edge of the escarpment overlooking the Ugandan Great Lakes or Jacana safari Lodge. Day 5: Queen Elizabeth Park - Bwindi. Volcanoes in which live the mountain gorillas. A visit to the bat Cave close to Maramaganbo forest is a must! This is the lushest highland rain Today's drive is through what is probably East Africa’s most spectacular scenery, the forest on earth, filled with primates, amazing reptile and exotic birds. The afternoon is spent on a foot safari around the local communities living around the park. Dinner and over night at either Gorilla Forest Camp Uganda safari lodge/Mantana Tented Camp/Lake Kitandara tented Camp/Buhoma Homestead/Community Bandas. Day 6: Bindi - Gorilla Trek. Begin the day with breakfast ready for trekking, which begins at 8:00 am with a briefing from the park guides. The guide will lead you inside the jungle to see the shy Primates for a group you have been booked for. Do not forget to take your lunch boxes and all the necessary gear to track the rare Mountain Gorilla, perhaps one of the most exciting wildlife experiences on earth. There are now only 650 left in the world! The tracking may take between 2 and 6 hours but its well worth the effort. Dinner and over night at Gorilla Forest Camp, Mantana Tented Camp (High and luxurious accommodation), or Lake Kitandara Tented Camp/Buhoma Homestead (Medium class accommodation) or the Community Banda (low budget/basic accommodation. Day 7: Bwindi – Kampala. Morning at leisure, after breakfast, drive back to Entebbe or Kampala have lunch on the way arriving early evening. Notes: - Availability of accommodation, permits and activities is not guaranteed until confirmation - Gorilla Permits are sold on ‘first come first serve’ basis - Gorilla permits can only be secured after receiving the requested deposit - The boat launch in Queen Elizabeth and Murchison Falls National Park requires a minimum of 20 participants in total.
