Tour Itinerary:
Day 1: Q.A.I. Airport - Amman. Arrive at Queen Alia International Airport. Meet, assist and transfer to hotel in Amman. Overnight in Amman. Includes: (D). Day 2: Amman – Mujib Nature Reserve - Petra by Night - Petra. After breakfast, drive south to Petra. En route stop for an exciting hike at Mujib Nature Reserve, and it also happens to be the lowest Reserve in the world. Enjoy a moderate 3 hour hike on the Siq Trail, which starts at the visitor's center near the Mujib Bridge, from where you take the cantilevered walkway over the dam, following the course of the river between towering sandstone cliffs to the base of a large waterfall. Depending on seasonal rainfall levels, the gorge may contain pools deep enough for swimming. Afterwards, proceed to Petra. Check in at your Petra Hotel for a short time of relaxation. Another exciting and romantic experience awaits you-Petra by night. You will walk from the Visitors’ Center via the Siq (gorge), which will be lit with candles, up to the Treasury. The walk will take about 30 – 40 minutes. Once the whole group is gathered in front of the Treasury, a Bedouin playing on the Nai - will walk out from inside of the Treasury towards the Siq and another one will be sitting at the very top of the Treasury playing on the Rababa. An English-speaking guide will briefly narrate the history of Petra. Back to the hotel. Dinner and overnight in Petra. Includes: (B), (D). Day 3: Petra s/s (Monastery) - Horse Ride. After breakfast, begin the journey by exploring the Nabatean city of Petra, which made its Hollywood debut in 1989 in "Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade", starring Harrison Ford. At the main entrance you'll have a guided horse-ride, or share a carriage with your mate, passing by the obelisk Tomb till the Dam area. Then proceed on foot through the fascinating Siq which is the narrow gorge that leads to Petra's most impressive monument, the Treasury. Afterwards, continuing on the Street of Facades, the Theater, the Royal Tombs, the Colonnaded Street, the Byzantine Church, the Temple, the Monumental Arch and Qasr el Bint Faroun. Climb up or hire a donkey for more than 900 rock-cut stairs to the gigantic first Century AD monument of the Monastery or ed-Deir, which is a modest shrine commemorating the death of Aaron, brother of Moses. Head back to the hotel in Petra. Back to the hotel. Dinner and overnight in Petra. Includes: (B), (D). Day 4: Petra s/s (the High Place of Sacrifice) - Lunch with a Bedouin Family- Wadi Rum Campsite. After breakfast, another exiting chance to discover Petra's wonders, for a half day visit to climb up to the High Place of Sacrifice (el-Madbah ) the starting point of this climb will be form a point close to the Theater, the path climbs steeply at first, then a little way further the ascent becomes much easier and finally the path emerges into an open space on a top of a small cliff overlooking the site of all Petra and providing a panoramic view of Wadi Araba and Mount Aaroun. Afternoon, visit a local home of a Bedouin family in Wadi Mousa to have a Mansaf lunch (a traditional Jordanian national meal served to honored guests). Transfer from Petra to Wadi Rum, one of the world's most colorful and unique landscapes of desert and mountain scenery. Have your barbecue dinner in the middle of the desert in a black "Bait Sha'ar" Bedouin Tent with a lit bonfire and enjoy oriental folkloric music. Overnight in Wadi Rum/Disi Campsite. Includes: (B), (L), (D). Day 5: Wadi Rum- Jeep (4x4) Tour- Dead Sea. After breakfast, explore the colored sands of Wadi Rum by a Bedouin driver in a fun four-wheel-drive jeep for two hours, passing by Lawrence's House, which was the residence of T.E Lawrence, it overlooks Rum Village with lush green farms and waterfalls. Later traveling south to the Wadi al Humra, which is where the Bedouin women used to apply their make-up. Soon after travel south to Jabal Um Fruth, to witness nature's natural phenomenon, a wind-carved sand-stone bridge, once used as meeting points for ancient caravans. Continuing to the east of Wadi Rum, to Flinstone Valley, an entirely opposite scenery with its lush exotic greenery, flourish with wheat and barely farms, many varieties of wildlife are occupants of this lush valley. The Journey then continues to the lowest spot on earth, the Dead Sea which is 394 meters below sea level. This oxygenated spot on earth is known for its mystical healing properties, offering a unique meditating experience of relaxation. One can float in the salty water of the Dead Sea virtually without any effort. You will check into your Hotel at the Dead Sea for an evening of pure rest and relaxation. Overnight in the Dead Sea.
