Take this legendary Trans-Canada rail tour on two first-class trains: The Canadian, with VIA Rail’s lovely Silver and Blue Service, and the Gold Leaf luxury rail service provided by the private, all-daylight Rocky Mountaineer train. See Niagara Falls, and spend four days exploring the pristine wilds of Lake Louise, Jasper and Banff National Parks. Tour runs between Toronto and Vancouver. Cross northern Ontario’s scenic lake lands, the prairies of Manitoba, Saskatchewan and Alberta and the towering Canadian Rockies, before ending on the Pacific Coast.

Tour Itinerary:

Day 1: Toronto. Arrive Toronto, and explore Canada’s largest city at your leisure.

Day 2: Niagara Falls. Enjoy motorcoach tour to Niagara Falls, one of the world’s great wonders. Cruise on Maid of the Mist to base of Horseshoe Falls (subject to cruise schedule).

Day 3: Depart Toronto. In the evening, begin four-day journey across Ontario and Prairie Provinces on board the Canadian. Overnight in your cozy cabin.

Day 4: On board Canadian. Continue rail journey across western Canada toward Jasper. Overnight on train.

Day 5: On board Canadian.

Day 6: Jasper. Early afternoon arrival in Jasper, surrounded by beautiful mountain scenery and teeming with wildlife. Overnight in Jasper.

Day 7: Jasper. Jasper National Park is a World Heritage Site and Canada's largest National Park. Today you will enjoy a short scenic tour including the many natural attractions, rugged peaks, and perhaps even catch a glimpse of some of the many creatures that call this mountain park home. The remainder of the eday is free for you to explore more of Jasper independently. Overnight in Jasper.

Day 8: Lake Louise. Travel to Lake Louise via one of the most scenic highways in the world, the Icefields Parkway. A stop will be made at Athabasca Falls before arriving at the Columbia Icefield. Here you will ride on an Ice Explorer to the middle of the Athabasca Glacier to learn more about its geological features. Your drive/guide will explain how glaciers are formed and point our some interesting geological features. Time will be available for lunch (not included). Afterwards, a brief stop will be made at Bow Lake before arriving in Lake Louise this afternoon. Overnight in Lake Louise

Day 9: Yoho Tour, Lake Louise-Banff. Half-day tour into Yoho National Park. See Spiral Tunnels, Emerald Lake and natural rock bridge spanning Kicking Horse River. Overnight in Banff.

Day 10: Banff. Tour Banff—Bow Falls, Banff Gondola, Lake Minnewanka, Surprise Corner, the Hoodoos. Continue on to Kananaskis for the highlight of today's adventure, a 12-minute Summit Helicopter Tour over the remarkable landscape of the Rockies. The rest of the day is free for you to spend at your leisure in Banff. Overnight Banff hotel.

Day 11: Banff-Kamloops. Board the Rocky Mountaineer for daylight trip to Kamloops. Travel between high peaks of Canadian Rockies, over mountain passes through tunnels, along rocky lakeshores and across ranchlands. Experience the Continental Divide, Spiral Tunnels — a remarkable feat of railroad engineering—Kicking Horse Canyon, Rogers Pass, Craigellachie (where last spike of Canadian Pacific Railway was driven), glaciers and snow-capped Canadian Rockies peaks. Most exciting spot on the train: the open-air observation platform. Overnight in Kamloops.

Day 12: Kamloops-Vancouver. Scenery changes to desert interior through winding river canyons and pristine forests, to the Coast and Cascade Mountains and lush green fields of Fraser River Valley. Be on the lookout for the rushing waters of Hell’s Gate. Arrive Vancouver. Overnight hotel.

Day 13: Vancouver. Tour ends with checkout from Vancouver hotel.
