Day 1: Puerto Natales. Yoga Intro. Night Hotel. This trip is based in the quaint waterside town of Puerto Natales. You will start by meeting your guide at the BlueGreen Adventures office at lunchtime before taking a private transfer out of town to the beautifully situated yoga dome. Meet your yoga instructor Susanne and enjoy afternoon tea with spectacular mountain and water views. We will start with an introduction to Hatha Yoga: In an effort to simplify and clarify the complex philosophies and teachings of yoga, Swami Vishnu-Devananda summarized the wisdom of yoga in 5 principles.
These principles show the way to developing physical and mental health as well as spiritual growth. The 5 points are: 1. Proper Exercise (Asanas), 2. Proper Breathing (Pranayama), 3. Proper Relaxation (Savasana), 4. Proper Diet (vegetarian) and 5. Positive Thinking (Vedanta) and Meditation (Dhyana). After discussing these points, Susanne will get you started on 1.5 hours of yoga practice and poses. On finishing, we will transfer to the new, contemporary Hotel If in Puerto Natales before meeting our guide and the rest of the group for dinner. Includes: (D) (wine/drinks available at extra cost).
Day 2: Morning yoga. Milodon Cave/Sophia Hike. Ride. After an early 6:30 start we will transfer to the yoga dome (15 minutes) for our Namaste and morning warm up. Two hours of yoga instruction before transferring back to hotel for breakfast. After breakfast, we will be driving out to the Milodon Cave (made famous by Bruce Chatwin) and the beautiful Laguna Sophia for short hikes. This is a pretty area with good, moderate walks. Picnic lunch before returning to Puerto Natales.
Afternoon at leisure or for the more energetic, transfer the short distance to a local estancia for the beautiful horse ride up onto Sierra Dorotea. This ride is suitable for beginners and the owner Adan will take excellent care of you on his well schooled, sure footed Criollo horses. The summit offers dramatic, far reaching views of the Torres del Paine and Bernardo O'Higgins peaks and surrounding lakes and glaciers. Return to estancia for tea and cake before returning to the Hotel If. Relax a little before dinner in town. Includes: (B), (L), (D) (wine/drinks available at extra cost).
Day 3: Morning yoga. Kayaking in fjords. Night Hotel. Another early 6:30 start and transfer to yoga dome (15 minutes). Namaste and morning warm up. Two hours of yoga before transferring back to hotel for breakfast. After breakfast, transfer to the nearby Puerto Prat for your kayak safety briefing and put in. We will start by paddling out into Eberhard Fjord visiting Estancia Consuelo and the historic Villa Luisa, chosen by Capital Eberhard to live with his family at the end of the 19th century. Enjoy paddling for about four hours in this important and beautiful waterway before returning to the quayside at Puerto Bories or Puerto Natales (depending on weather) where we will haul out our kayaks and drive back into town. Dinner in town and night in Hotel If. Includes: (B), (L), (D) (wine/drinks available at extra cost).
Day 4: Morning Yoga. Our final early 6:30 start and transfer to yoga dome (15 minutes). Namaste and morning warm up. Today is our final day and we will be participating in two hours of yoga before Susanne closes with mantras and a yogic breakfast at the yoga dome. Transfer back to the hotel to relax and pack up belongings. Trip end. Breakfast only.
