Day 1: Punta Arenas to Faro San Isidro Inn. Afternoon check in to office in Punta Arenas before joining transfer out of town (approximately 1 hour by land) to embarkation area at Voces Bay. Board rigid inflatable boats (RIBs) for the short trip across the bay (30 minutes) before arriving at the San Isidro Inn in time for dinner. Dinner will be at the Inn with accommodation in double rooms with private bathroom. Dinner included (wine/drinks available at extra cost).
Day 2: Navigate to Carlos III and marine eco-camp. After breakfast, we will be boarding our boat once again for a navigation through the Straits of Magellan observing the flora and fauna on the way to the science and research base known as Whalesound on Carlos III Island located in the Francisco Coloane Marine Park. Lunch will be at our campsite and then there will be a marine lecture followed by a tour of the camp and surrounding areas including a visit to the whale observatory where we can observe whales and sea birds. Return to Whalesound for dinner and accommodation in double domed eco-tents with shared bathroom facilities. Includes: (B), (L), (D) (wine/drinks available at extra cost).
Day 3: Observe whales. PM sail to glacier. Eco camp. This morning will be spent observing whales with hopeful sightings of penguins, cormorants and sea lions. Lunch will be at the camp before we once again sail out for a navigation towards the beautiful, remote glacier Isla Santa Ines through Seno Ballena (whale sound). Dinner will be back at the Whalesound camp with accommodation as above. Includes: (B), (L), (D) (wine/drinks available at extra cost).
Day 4: Morning whale observation. Return Punta Arenas. After breakfast we will take a short excursion to see whales and sea birds. Lunch will be back at the camp before we board our boat for the sailing back to Punta Arenas. Arrive in Punta Arenas at disembarkation point at about 1900 hours. Transfer to Punta Arenas (approx 1 hour) to arrive back at your hotel at about 2000 hours. Includes: (B), (L).
