Mekong Delta was formed by sediment deposited by the Mekong River and the process still continues today. The land of the Mekong Delta is renowned for its richness and most of it is under cultivation. Its product includes rice, coconut, sugarcane, fruits and fish. A major activity in the Mekong Delta is boating. It is interesting to tour through the canals by boat to get a close look at the beautiful natural setting of the Mekong Delta.
Tour itinerary:
Day 1:
Depart at 7:45 AM from our office to Cai Be by air-conditioned bus. Have a motorized boat ride to see round Cai Be floating market with local people being selling, buying, exchanging goods from their boats. Walk around to see orchard, rice paper making, rice scrispies producing process, etc...Stop for a rest, a free Vietnamese lunch including tropical fruits, traditional music. Boat through a village to see peaceful tranquil life of villagers, admire marvelous natural setting of Mekong Delta region. Take a boat trip through some islands and cross Mekong river to Vinh Long. Crossing lower Mekong river to view Can Tho city by ferry. Overnight in Can Tho.
Day 2:
3-hour boat trip to discover the beautiful Cai Rang floating market and its surroundings. Visit a vermicelli making shop, a rice husking mill, fruit gardens. Enjoy tropical fruit (free). See the peaceful life in the rural area. Have lunch in Can Tho before going back to Saigon. Stop to visit Vinh Long market and bonsai garden in My Tho.
