Day 1: Pick-up from your hotel or riad at 9 a.m., drive 250 km to Sahara Camp via Draa. This short Saharan adventure tour starts from Ouarzazate, a large town strategically built at the confluence of three rivers and home to one of the largest movie studios in the world. Leaving Ouarzazate by private four-wheel drive desert safari vehicle you will traverse the beautiful Draa Valley. Lined with old Kasbahs, Ksour and palm groves, the Draa spreads from Ouarzazate in the west to Zagora in the east. It is regarded by many as one of the most scenic journeys in Morocco. Day 2: Explore Sahara by four-wheel drive, on foot or camel. After a brief stop in Zagora, once the final stop-off for caravans before they entered the endless solitude of the Hamada’s, you will reach M’hamid, the last major settlement before the Moroccan Sahara. From here the vast Sahara Desert and the welcome comforts of an exclusive private tented camp await you. Set in a peaceful wilderness location and surrounded by a varied desert landscape, a variety of activities are possible from the Sahara Safari Camp. Day 3: Return Ouarzazate via Chegaga dunes, tour ends at 6 p.m. at your hotel or riad. Short excursions can be taken to nearby small oases and dunes in your own four-wheel drive vehicle. Alternatively relax in camp, explore on foot or take a camel ride. Star-gaze at night and enjoy the setting and rising sun.
