Day 1: Pick-up from your hotel or riad at 7 a.m., drive to Sahara Camp via Tizi n’Tichka. Traveling by private four-wheel drive desert safari vehicle this short Saharan adventure starts from Marrakech and begins with a scenic ascent of the High Atlas Mountains via the Tizi n’Tichka pass. After a visit to the impressive World Heritage Kasbah at Ait Benhaddou and a tasty Berber lunch in a fortified village house you will traverse the beautiful Draa Valley. Lined with old Kasbahs, Ksour and palm groves, the Draa is regarded by many as one of the most scenic routes in Morocco. Day 2: Explore Sahara by four-wheel drive, on foot or camel. After a brief stop in Zagora, once the final stop-off for caravans before they entered the endless solitude of the Hamada’s, you will reach Mhamid, the last major settlement before the Moroccan Sahara. From here the vast Sahara Desert and the welcome comforts of an exclusive private tented camp await you. Set in a peaceful wilderness location and surrounded by a varied desert landscape, a variety of activities are possible from the Sahara Safari Camp. Day 3: Return to Marrakech via Chegaga dunes, tour ends at 8 p.m. at your hotel or riad. Short excursions can be taken to nearby small oases and dunes in your own four-wheel drive vehicle. Alternatively relax in camp, explore on foot or take a camel ride. Star-gaze at night and enjoy the setting and rising sun.
