Day 1: Pick-up from your hotel or riad at 7 a.m., drive to Sahara Camp via Tizi n’Tichka. From Marrakech you will travel 430 km by private fully-equipped four-wheel drive vehicle deep into Saharan dunes to sleep under a starlit night sky in style in a semi-luxury tented camp. This short Saharan adventure starts from Marrakech and begins with a scenic ascent of the High Atlas Mountains via the Tizi n’Tichka pass. After a visit to the impressive World Heritage Kasbah at Ait Benhaddou and a tasty Berber lunch in a fortified village house you will traverse the beautiful Draa Valley. Lined with old Kasbahs, Ksour and palm groves, the Draa is regarded by many as one of the most scenic routes in Morocco. Day 2: Explore Sahara, oases and dunes by four-wheel drive vehicle. After a brief stop in Zagora, once the final stop-off for caravans before they entered the endless solitude of the Hamada’s, you will reach Mhamid, the last major settlement before the Moroccan Sahara. From here the vast Sahara Desert and the welcome comforts of an exclusive private tented camp await you. Set in a peaceful wilderness location and surrounded by a varied desert landscape, a variety of activities are possible from the Sahara Safari Camp. Day 3: Optional camel trek or desert walk. Short excursions can be taken to nearby small oases and dunes in your own four-wheel drive vehicle. Alternatively relax in camp, explore on foot or take a camel ride. Star-gaze at night and enjoy the setting and rising sun. After three comfortable nights in the desert you will return to Marrakech via the huge dunes of Chegaga, the dry lake of Iriki and back over the Tizi n’Tichka.
