Day 1: Pick-up from your hotel or riad at 7 a.m. drive to Sahara Camp via Tizi n’Tichka. From Marrakech you will travel 430 km by private fully-equipped four-wheel drive vehicle deep into Saharan dunes to sleep under a starlit night sky in style in a semi-luxury tented camp. You will also visit a World Heritage Kasbah at Ait Benhaddou, traverse the Draa Valley and see huge dunes at Chegaga. Finally, returning to Marrakech on a different route, you will spend a night in the Souss Valley before traversing the High Atlas again.
Day 2: Explore Sahara by four-wheel drive, camel or on foot. Travelling by private four-wheel drive desert safari vehicle this short Sahara and Atlas adventure starts from Marrakech and begins with a scenic ascent of the High Atlas Mountains via the Tizi n’Tichka pass. After a visit to the impressive World Heritage Kasbah at Ait Benhaddou and a tasty Berber lunch in a fortified village house you will traverse the beautiful Draa Valley. Lined with old Kasbahs, Ksour and palm groves, the Draa is regarded as one of the most scenic routes in Morocco.
Day 3: Drive to Oulad Berhil via Chegaga dunes. After a brief stop in Zagora you will reach Mhamid, the last major settlement before the Moroccan Sahara. From here the vast Sahara Desert and the welcome comforts of an exclusive private tented camp await you. Set in a peaceful wilderness location a variety of activities are possible from camp. Explore nearby small oases and dunes in your own four-wheel drive vehicle, relax in camp, explore on foot or take a camel ride. Star-gaze at night and enjoy the setting and rising sun.
Day 4: After two comfortable nights in the desert you will begin your return journey to Marrakech via the huge dunes of Chegaga and the dry lake of Iriki. Next you will cross the Jebel Bani and Anti-Atlas Mountains on route to Oulad Berhil in the Souss Valley for an overnight at Riad Hida. Finally you will ascend the High Atlas to the Tizi n’Test Pass and witness dramatic scenery of Berber villages, terraced fields and Atlas peaks. On a clear day you may even catch a glimpse of Jebel Toubkal. Return to Marrakech across the Atlas, tour ends at 8 p.m. at your hotel or riad.
