Day 1: Trip to Kibale Forest National Park - Chimps. After breakfast, our safari guide will pick you from your accommodation establishment for a drive to fort portal town. Driving via Mubende you will have a stopover at the nakayima tree - an ancient tree belonging to the Chwezi dynasty of Uganda. This journey through the rural country side of Uganda is rewarding with scenery of lush homesteads, tea plantations and farms. You will have lunch en route and reach fort portal in the afternoon. Dinner and overnight at Ndali lodge/primates lodge/Rwenzori view guest house for dinner and overnight.
Day 2: Chimpanzee tracking in Kibale Forest. In the morning, have breakfast and go for chimpanzee tracking in Kibale national park. This park is known for harboring the largest number of primates in africa. The search for chimpanzees may reward you with other primates like the grey mangabeys, pottos, colobus monkeys, bush babies, baboons and many more. In the afternoon, go for a relaxing nature walk in the Bigodi swamp to view the unique flora and fauna in this area most especially birds. Dinner and overnight at Ndali lodge/primates lodge/Rwenzori view guest house.
Day 3: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park. Have breakfast and transfer to queen Elizabeth National Park. You will reach in the afternoon and catch the boat ride on the Kazinga channel. This trip will rewards you with animals like hippos, buffaloes, elephants and plenty of birds on the shores which takes three hours. Dinner and overnight at Mweya safari lodge/Institute of ecology.
Day 4: Chimpanzees tracking in Kyambura gorge. After breakfast start your day with a trip to the Kyambura gorge in search for the fast moving chimpanzees. These close relatives of man will be searched for within the confines of a forested river gorge carved into the surroundings flat savannah. The walk is captivating and rewarding with a variety of other game or primates. Dinner and overnight at Mweya safari lodge/institute of ecology.
Day 5: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable. drive through the Ishasha sector and transfer to Bwindi impenetrable national park. While on this long drive you may see the tree climbing lions and other game such as the Uganda kob, elephants, topi and many more. Reaching Bwindi by afternoon, go for a nature walk in the neighbouring communities and also get entertained by the local community performances. You can also do shopping of crafts and souvenirs. Dinner and overnight at gorilla resort/Buhoma community bandas.
Day 6: Gorilla tracking in Bwindi gorilla park. Wake up and have breakfast then transfer to the park headquarters and get briefed before you enter the park-gorilla tracking. This will start at 9:00 am and you will walk/trail through the forest tracks that are steep (if its a rainy season) therefore you should ask for a walking stick if you need one. This is a strenuous activity but the ecstasy obtained on encountering these humble giants erases the poor memories you went through in trying to find them. The time its takes to meet mans’ close relatives is unpredictable but it ranges between 2-8 hours depending on their movement. Dinner and overnight at gorilla forest camp/buhoma community bandas.
Day 7: Drive back to Kampala. Have breakfast and then drive back to Kampala. You will have lunch in any of the towns enroute. Dinner and overnight at Sheraton hotel/cassia lodge.
