Tour Itinerary:
Day 1: TANA Arriving at Ivato international airport, clear customs and meet Ortour representative for transfer to the Colbert (top) or the for overnight. Day 2: TANA - ANDASIBE Drive from Tana to Andasibe (3 hours). The national park of Mantadia is in the Alaotra Mangoro. It is known for its rare orchids that bloom in the forest, Indri indri that can be observed all year round, its magnificent water falls and the famous cultural rituals of the inhabitants of its surrounding. Mantadia and the Special Reserve of Indri of Analamazaotra form the complex Andasibe Mantadia. Overnight at Vakona Forest Lodge (top). Day 3: VISIT THE PARK ANALAMAZOATRA AND MANTADIA - TANA Visit the two reserves. The forest of the Mantadia Park accommodates a lot of animals which assure their perpetuity at the same time. 108 species of birds are known in the park, some of which play a role in the survival of plants like Terpsiphone mutata. We can also find 14 species of lemurs in there, 51 species of reptiles Boa, the famous Boa manditra and 84 species of amphibian. The ecosystem of Mantadia depends on its lower-case letters animals: They are the pollinisateurs of the plants of flowers, the recyclers of the nourishing elements of soil and the organic garbage. In the food chain, the bugs are the food of many birds and mammals. The forests of Mantadia are the domains of the lianas and épiphytes as the orchids, the mosses and the ferns. The orchids are very varied with more than a hundred species inventoried. After the visit ,drive back to Tana , overnight at the hotel Colbert . Day 4: TANA- MORONDAVA Transfer to the Airport and fly to Morondava. Upon arrival drive to the reserve of Kirindy ,50kms north of Morondava. About 15 km north of Morondava is the famous Baobab Avenue known as the ‘Allée de Baobab’ (Baobab Alley). The best times to visit are at sunset and sunrise, when the colors of the trees change. Kirindy is a privately managed forest by a Swiss company dedicated to a selective and sustainable logging (Centre de Formation Professionelle Forestière). Kirindy is the best place in the whole island to observe fossas, specially during the mating time between October and December. It also home to seven species of lemur. The most common are the common brown lemurs and the Verreaux's sifakas. These long-legged, seven-pound lemurs, white with dark patches, leap among tree trunks high in the canopy, propelled by their powerful hind legs but continually maintaining an upright posture. The remaining species are nocturnal: the rare Coquerel's giant mouse lemur and pygmy mouse-lemur, fork-crowned lemur, Gray mouse lemur, western fat-tailed dwarf lemur and red-tailed sportive lemur. Several bats, tenrecs, mongooses and rodents complete the mammal population. 40 bird, 50 reptile and 15 amphibian species are also found in this magnificent forest After the visit return to Morondava , overnight at the hotel Palissandre. Day 5: MORONDAVA - TSINGY Leave Morondava to the Tsingy of Bemaraha . National Park of Tsingy of Bemaraha (eroded limestones) near Bekopaka village.( around 8 hours drive) The park of Bemaraha spreads over 157 710 Ha with 100-km long from the North to the South and 10 to 40km large in West. Its Southern part enjoys the National Park statute with 72.340 ha of surface. Its Northern part that has the statute of Integral Natural reserve, cover 85. 370 ha. It is in the South that we can find the Tsingy, spectacular pinnacles the access of which is extremely difficult. This Karstic formation spreads is visible from afar, a forest of peaks and ergots of rocks that makes all so impressive. Overnight at Orchidée de Bemaraha/ Vazimba (High midrange) Day 6: VISIT AT THE TSINGY Full day visit at both small and big Tsingy. Bemaraha is a high spot of endemism and diversity. The scientists estimate that the general endemism of this park is 86, 7% and the ecoregional one is 47%. 11 species of lemurs are listed from there, five families of Bats, 103 species of bird species. The index of the reptiles and amphibians is as large as Bemaraha possesses 34 species that are all endemic. There is a broad canyon which is crossed by a swinging suspension bridge. Amid all this grey are splashes of green from the Pachypodiums and other succulents. And there is plenty of wildlife too, expecting to see long eared owls perched on a branch. In the forests there are troops of Decken’s sifaka and red fronted brown lemurs Overnight at the Hotel Orchidée de Bemaraha (high midrange) or Vazimba Hotel (high -midrange) Day 7: TSINGY - MORONDAVA Drive back to Morondava, an hour stop at the babaob alley, a good opportunity to take a photo during the sunset. Overnight at hotel Palissandre (top). Day 8-9-10-11: MORONDAVA - TANA – ANJAJAVY This day, we take a flight to get to Tana, continue with the private airline of Air Hotel from Antananarivo to Anjajavy. Anjajavy is ranked among the best beaches in Madagascar, with beautiful coral reefs, clean and transparent ocean and has the most luxurious hotel. With extremely diverse environment, Anjajavy possesses lot of fauna and flora offering a splendid reflection of Malagasy nature. Also, it has tremendous amount of animal species such as the sifaka lemur (coquerel’s sifaka), and rich of bird species like the Madagascar fish eagle, and reptiles.
