Day 1: Nairobi. Upon arrival you will be met and transferred to the luxurious Nairobi’s Norfolk Hotel. Rest of the day at leisure. Overnight: Norfolk Hotel. Includes: (B).
Day 2: Mt. Kenya. Travel to the world renown Mt. Kenya Safari club (co-founded by the late movie actor William Holden) in the foothills of Mt. Kenya a 17,058 foot dormant volcano. The rest of the afternoon is free to relax and enjoy this magnificent luxury safari resort or after breakfast excursion to the not far away Sweetwater’s Reserve. Dinner and Overnight: Mt. Kenya Safari Club. Includes: (B, L, D).
Day 3: Samburu Game Reserve. After breakfast, head north through breathtaking scenery dotted with rushing mountain streams and fields of tea and coffee. Before Nanyuki town, you will stop at the Equator for a memorable Equator demonstration, water spins differently on each hemisphere. After Nanyuki town, you will reach the outpost known as Isiolo, the last major stop on the journey into the remote northern frontier. Descend from the lush highlands to the arid Laikipia Plains and the small oasis of the famed Shaba Game Reserve. Samburu lies on the fringe of the hot and sparsely populated northern region of Kenya. In the afternoon, there will be a game drive returning to the lodge as the sun sets Dinner and Overnight: Larsen Luxury Tented Camp.
Day 4: Samburu Game Reserve. Both Morning and afternoon game drives are scheduled for today. Samburu harbours a number of wildlife species rarely found elsewhere. Enjoy morning and afternoon game viewing in search of Northern Species of Game not seen south of the Equator, such as Reticulated Giraffe, Grevy, Zebra, Beisa Oryx and Somali Ostrich. Another creature unique to these areas is the Long-necked Gerenuk (meaning 'giraffe neck'), a graceful antelope that stands upright on its hind legs to feed on tall bushes. The Uaso Nyiro River provides bathing pools for hippos, elephants and crocodiles. Keep your eyes open for lion, cheetah, or elusive leopard. There is also a variety of birds like vulturine guinea fowl among others. Dinner and Overnight: Larsen Luxury Tented Camp or similar. Includes: (B, L, D).
Day 5: Masai Mara Game Reserve (Flying). Transferred to local airstrip for scheduled flight of 45 minutes to Masai Mara. You will be met and transferred to the luxurious Mara Sarova Tented Camp or Mara Serena Lodge. Lunch and later afternoon game drive is included in search for the plains game and the big cats resident of Mara. Dinner and Overnight: Mara Serena Lodge or similar.
Day 6: Masai Mara. Pre-breakfast morning game drive in the reserve, a great opportunity to explore the vast flora and fauna of this magnificent reserve. After a rewarding game drive, return to your lodge for late morning breakfast. Or a full day game drive with picnic lunch boxes (include visits to Mara River, Kenya Tanzania Border Post and a great chance to view the "Big Five". Enjoy the Great Migration if lucky! You will have your picnic lunch at Hippo Pool as you watch crocodiles. Return to your lodge late in the afternoon). Later just relax till afternoon game drive or visit the nearby Masai Mara village as an optional excursions. Dinner and Overnight: Mara Serena or similar. Includes: (B, L, D).
Day 7: Nairobi (Departure). Rise up early this morning for one last game drive before breakfast. Late this morning fly over the great Rift Valley to Nairobi. You will have lunch at one of the Nairobi finest restaurants featuring local cuisine. Later transferred to Jomo Kenyatta International Airport for your outbound flight home.
