This is the short version of the famous and stunning Inca Trail, for those who have less time available but do not want to loose this unique trek. We start at km 104 and we walk till the ruins of Wiñahuayna. After a visit to the ruins, we go to Inti punku from where we will have a fabulous view over the Lost City of the Incas. From here we take the bus down to the village of Aguas Calientes where we will stay for the night. Next day we depart very early, with the first bus, to visit Machu Picchu, at 2650 km above sea level. Around 3:30 we take the train back to Cusco.

Tour Itinerary:

Day 1: You will be picked up from your hostel between 5:45 to 6:00 and transferred to the train station for the train to Machu Picchu. There is beautiful scenery along the way! We will get off at km 104 where the two day hike starts. We will start hiking around 10:30 a.m. First we will pass the ruins of Chacchabamba (2250 meters). Around 4:00 p.m. we will continue our trip to the Puerta del Sol (Sun Gate or "Inti Punko") where we might see one of the most beautiful sun sets of your life! From here we will continue our hike to Aguas Calientes where we will sleep for the night in a hotel.

Day 2: After a very early breakfast we will take the bus to arrive at the ruins of Machu Picchu for sunrise and before all the tourists arrive. (You also have the option to walk up). After that, our guide will give us a guided tour of about two and a half hours. After that we will have some time free to explore the ruins, wander around, and have lunch (not included). You have to be at the train station in Machu Picchu at the latest by 3:15 to catch the 3:30 train back to Cusco. You will arrive in Cusco at approximately 8:30 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. Sometimes Peru Rail organizes the train to be met in Ollantaytambo by a bus and you will travel from there to Cusco in bus. We apologize in advance for any inconvenience.
