Glaciers, hot springs and volcanoes reign over Iceland´s beautiful landscape. This tour explores the highlights of South Iceland, including a spouting geyser, several waterfalls, glaciers, and a glacier lagoon.

Tour Itinerary:

Day 1: Arrival. Arrival at Keflavik airport. Transfer to your hotel in Reykjavik with airport shuttle.

Day 2: Reykjavik - Hvolsvollur. The first day of the tour starts with a short (1 &1/2 hr) city tour around Reykjavik. Among places we will see are the old harbour, the city center, Hallgrimskirkja church and the Pearl. Then we continue to Þingvellir (Parliament Plaines), the location of the old parliament and a geological phenomenon. From there we drive to the Geysir geothermal area for a spouting geyser and to Gullfoss, the Golden Waterfall, where on a sunny day you can see a rainbow in the spray above the waterfall. From there we proceed to our overnight stay.

Day 3: Hvolsvollur - Glacial Lagoon. Today we stop to visit the waterfall Skogafoss. From there we drive to the village of Vik and then through the lava of the Laki eruption in 1782-1783 to the Glacier Lagoon (Jokulsarlon) before coming to our overnight stay.

Day 4: Glacial Lagoon - Vik. On the third day the trip continues towards the oasis at Skaftafell national park close to Vatnajokull, Europe's biggest glacier. At Skaftafell we take a short walk towards the glacier tongue. In the afternoon we drive to Vik for our overnight stay.

Day 5: Vik - Reykjavik. Today drive through the beautiful scenery of Iceland's South Shore and stop by the rocks of Reynisdrangar, Solheimajokull glacier and the waterfall of Seljarlandsfoss before driving to the Blue Lagoon for a relaxing bath before driving to Reykjavik.

Day 6: Departure. Departure transfer to Keflavik airport with airport shuttle.
