Druk Path Trek
A short trek, relatively easy from Paro to Thimphu or the other way round. The Druk Path goes as high as 3800m above the sea level. This trek is very wonderful and a very popular trek in Bhutan – as this trek requires a shorter duration. The trek is moderate and demanding one. En-route, on clear weather, views of the Himalayas are breathtaking, the scenery is beautiful and fantastic, monasteries, lakes, the rhododendron and high altitude wild flowers and many more makes the trekking very interesting and memorial in one’s life time. - Start of Trek: Above National Museum (Paro) - End of Trek: Motithang (Thimphu) - Duration of Trek: 4 nights/5 days. - Duration in Bhutan: 8 nights/9 days - Season: March, April, May, September, October and November. Tour Itinerary: Day 1: Bangkok - Paro. Arrive Paro. Afternoon visit National Museum and Paro Dzong. Evening at stroll around the Paro twon. Welcome dinner and over night at hotel. Day 2: Paro Halt. Hike to Taktshang Goenpa. Afternoon visit Drukgyel dzong and Kyichu Lhakhang. Evening visit farmhouse for dinner, Suja (Butter Tea) and Ara (Local Alchol). Over night stay at hotel. Day 3: Paro – Jele dzong. The drukpath trek begins above from the National museum. On clear days, the snow-capped mountains can be seen. The camp site- near old Jele Dzong. Altitude 3,350 m; Distance 10 km; Time 3 - 4 hours. Day 4: Jele Dzong – Jangchuklhakha. The trek passes through the thick alpine forest of rhododendron, yaks and yak herders can be seen en route. Overnight at the camp, Jangchuklhakha. Altitude 3,700 m; Distance 12 km; Time 4 - 5 hours. Day 5: Jangchulakha – Jimilangtso. Mountains can be viewed on clear days and the lake-Jimilangtsho. Over night at the camp, Jimilangtsho. Altitude 3,800 m; Distance 16 km; Time: 6-7 hours. Day 6: Jimilangtso – Phajoding. The dwarf rhododendron trees, the lake of Janetso, the beautiful view of mountain Gangker Phuensum, the highest mountain in Bhutan. Phajoding monasteries and Thimphu town is visible at the valley floor. Overnight at camp, Phajoding. Altitude 3,250 m; Distance 21 km; Time 7-8 hours. Day 7: Phajoding – Thimphu (End of Trek). The trek to Thimphu is down hill through blue pine forests. Afternoon at leisure/rest. Overnight in the hotel. Day 8: Thimphu - Paro. Visit National Memorial Chorten, the Dupthop Lhakhang one of the few surviving nunneries in Bhutan. Folk Heritage museum and handicraft emporium. In evening drive to Paro. Over night stay at Paro. Day 9: Paro - Airport. Morinig drive to Paro international airport for your onward flight to Bangkok. Thank You and Tashi Delek.
